Experience immersive and virtual sound works as you move around freely, listening from a selection of more than fifteen pieces from different sound artists.
Déjà-vu is an online diffusion platform of immersive and virtual sound works. Created from the 3D digitization of Sporobole’s outdoor space, it recalls the familiar structure of the center. The platform offers the public the possibility to live or relive an experience originally conceived for the sound window, an outdoor linear device of 16 speakers integrated into Sporobole’s building facade. It also showcases works produced especially for this environment, which becomes, here, a creation support in itself. By placing freedom of movement at the heart of the passerby’s experience, Déjà-vu aims at widening the notions of space of creation and diffusion while highlighting the sound works created at Sporobole and making them accessible from anywhere.

"Déjà-vu" is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this "art experience". Instead of being a game, "Déjà-vu" is a software application that presents a poorly made art exhibition. This garbage is a selection of crap sound samples from "Sound artists" who can't get jobs, and thus $100 garbage publication via Steam Direct. If you ever wanted a valid reason why Valve needs to bring QA back to Steam, this is it. This kind of store pollution happens when a failed art student gets rejected by all the real galleries will host their work, so they dump it on Steam Direct for a hundred bucks so they can pretend they're real, published artists. I don't believe Steam was intened to be a coping mechanism for art school dropouts. While games are certainly capable of being art, art is where the pinnacle of creativity meets the pinnacle of craftsmanship... and this art school dropout stuff has neither. And importantly for us gamers, this isn't a game. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Maybe this would work on the world's beefiest computer, but not on mine. All it does is take up 25 gigs of my hard drive. Probably don't bother with this one.
Excellent experience, I had an awesome time! Overall a very good display of audio experiences and spatialization, coupled with very soft and smooth visuals. Loved that we're also given some context about each piece and composer. On the flip side, I wished there was some options to tweak the quality settings. I speak french so I don't mind, but there probably shouldn't be some english translations too. Cheers!
