Dead Effect is pure, unadulterated sci-fi b-movie trash in game form, playing like a scruffy, discount version of Dead Space. It’s definitely got that cheap, old-school jank, but once you accept the rough edges, the core shooting mechanics are actually pretty fun. It’s a completely okay, straightforward shooter that doesn't pretend to be anything else—perfect for anyone nostalgic for the era of simple, mindless action games.4 found this helpful
It reminds me of some old style games such as KF2, with large socalled modern environment, despite the setting of weapons and money and upgrade system is so lagged that the game originated from mobile game.
What can I say -- it's a mobile game, first and foremost. The premise is decent. Full voice acting, at least some unique-looking assets, and pushing its simple story from the beginning to the end are all positive points of that game. There are varied weapons, varied enemies, and relatively varied layouts aboard the presented ship. The gameplay is dead simple -- here, you have a ship and some zombies, shoot them around. That basic concept is executed well enough -- it's absolutely playable as a shooter game, and it's not the worst. As for the gameplay nitpicks, it doesn't all work together that well, and the over-linear level design highlights more gameplay problems. Eg -- many corridors are so tight that you cannot move past enemies, but at the same time often enough there are no alternative paths so if you misused your ult, you're just stomped to death. This is pronounced even more visible by the grenade-throwing enemy, which could be fun if you, well, could move even a meter to side to avoid their grenades, but in way too many corridors there's just no space for that, so you can only watch the grenade fly towards you and one shot you. Sprinting cooldown being two years long, c…
Whelp, pretty much exactly what it seems. Mediocre, bland, uninventive, tired, cringey. Kinda game that you wish you hadn't spent money on.
so i played and beat Dead effect on mobile and liked it, i however do not like the microtransactions on mobile games so i sought after the PC version on steam. first off ill say i got the game for a dollar so being so every flaw or issue is not that big a deal because of how little was spent on the game, ever so the game does have its fair share of flaws. so what's the bad, the bad is as follows: the voice acting ( as other users have mentioned frequently), the grinding to progress the main story by continuous replaying of said survival and biohazard modes. the sound effects (in terms of something missing like for example footsteps), the damage to health ratio ( its very easy even on easy to die and very frustrating because every time you die, you need to spend your credits ( with the only solution being a health upgrade that while makes the game easier, does not sadly make it more balanced in every aspect), (which is one of the gotcha tactics they implemented on the mobile versions) that you also need to upgrade your weapons in order to progress and have fun with the game). there's some very noticeable frame rate drops on one specific (but odd) biohazard level/map, i also personal…
is a okay game that takes some getting use to, the only downside to it is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reload time by the time your gun reloads you already died. You can upgrade the reload time of weapons in this game using money that you collect while dying because your gun wouldn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reload fast enough. Also collecting and carrying ammo is serous lacking in the game. You find ammo and it say's ammo is full then you'll shoot at 3 zombies and you suddenly don't have anymore ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ammo. I want to like this game cause it is pretty cool but damn what a monetization system even though everything is free. This game is not for the lazy as it takes some serous effort.
