There's some difficulty in figuring out the exact builds and the weapons you need. That said, if you like figuring that sort of thing out, this game is for you. However, don't believe the power of the hordes, you need a higher squad power than those imply.

This game surprised me a lot, I saw a little about it, not too much, and it seemed interesting at first glance. It’s kind of a card game, but at its core, it isn’t, things are just represented as cards and it’s a clever way to simplify the inner workings of the mechanics. It plays a lot more like an xcom, just in a different method and no cover mechanics, just kind of straight up combat, perhaps more adjacent to Slay The Spire in that sense. Truth be told I have nothing to complain about with this, it’s fun and engaging and there is loot and upgrades to chase, it’s not overly deep, but there is plenty to strive for and interaction with. I’m very happy with the game and am very much enjoying what it has to offer, I highly recommend the title, but my only real word of caution is the normal difficulty is a little too easy, I haven’t ever really felt in danger, so far, at any point. So, if you want a little more challenge, play it above the normal, and I think you’ll have a dang good time. It has a noise mechanic, kind of like the stress mechanic from Darkest Dungeon, but not nearly as punishing and you have a ton of control over it, it just pulls another tough enemy in and that alo…

Fun little game. Enjoying the looting and combat and progression The UI is a bit mess and took me a while to figure out how to navigate and control on steam deck. The small ish fonts didn't help on SD either. I still don't understand what numbers and icons on combat screen means. Maybe I can mouse over and see tooltips on PC version?

One of those "I wish Steam had a neutral rating. The fact that it was only $10 and pretty addictive, this was a very very difficult thumbs down. This game is pretty fun. But the story is a little inconsequential and so is the game play. It becomes apparent that everything is a dopamine machine. There aren't really deep team building or skills building like you would have in games with skill trees like xcom. Eventually, you acquire every skill. This game is more like Home Behind 2 but with cards. and that game was quite good, and also incredibly forgettable. The game could have done more to build out atmosphere. I didn't get a sense I was playing a horror game even though the enemies were zombies. It was pretty clear that my team was just so powerful. and I'm never quite kept on my toes. The game does the addictive gameplay pretty well. You fire a bullet, it causes a chain reaction in which your team goes in for an attack. All of a sudden you've massacred a bunch of zombies by using one of your 5 character's turn. What is not to like? Except a lack of depth. Get this game - play it for 30 or so hours, finish it, and then move on with other games. That said, these days I'm n…
