About Terminus: Zombie Survivors

✦ AI summary

Survive a procedurally generated zombie apocalypse by managing resources, crafting gear, and strategically spending action points to reach the Terminus or escape by alternate means. Each run is unique with 15 character classes, multiple endings, NPC interactions, and customizable difficulty modifiers to keep the challenge fresh.

Terminus: Zombie Survivors is a turn-based survival roguelike set against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse. Weeks have passed since the zombie virus took hold of humanity, and most of the population has already been infected. As one of the few remaining survivors, you must finally venture out to join up with the other survivors at the Terminus. Battle your way through hunger, frigid temperatures, and ravenous zombies to make it to the Terminus—escape the city through whatever means possible, or even develop a vaccine!

EXPLORE A RANDOMLY GENERATED MAP

Each journey for survival is different, as the very city you battle through to survive is procedurally generated. Over 150 different areas are generated, with numerous locations to discover, hundreds of items to scavenge, and endless zombies to evade or fight. No two games are ever the same, but the journey to the Terminus is uniquely challenging each time.

BE STRATEGIC IN TURN-BASED PLAY

Choose your next move carefully! Every movement, action, and decision you make deducts from your Action Points (AP). Strategic management of your AP is key to survival. Use too little, and you might not find the resources needed to survive. Use too many, and you may leave yourself open to attack.

CRAFT, COOK, AND SURVIVE

Maintain your condition to stay in fighting shape during this apocalypse. Surviving isn't easy—you'll need to eat, sleep, and stay warm. Scavenge for materials to craft tools and weapons, and cook meals to keep your energy up. Every action, from crafting to cooking, directly impacts your chances of survival.

FIGHT VARIOUS ZOMBIES

Choose from a vast arsenal of tools and weapons with which to attack the oncoming zombie horde. Pick which parts of the body you want to hit, and experiment with the countless options on offer—if in doubt, remove the head or destroy the brain!

EXPERIENCE MULTIPLE ENDINGS

Survive the unending hordes of undead through one of multiple escape scenarios: reach the Terminus safe zone, escape by boat or helicopter, join a group of survivors, or even develop the vaccine!

RECRUIT AND TRADE WITH NPCs

Clawing your way across the city, you’ll occasionally encounter other uninfected survivors. Band together with them on your journey, trade goods, or steal their supplies and find your own way to survive the end of the world.

DISCOVER YOUR FAVORITE SURVIVOR CLASS

Soldier, police officer, firefighter, farmer—each one will fare differently in an apocalypse, but it’s up to you to discover which one stands the best chance of surviving. Pick from 15 different classes, traits to unlock, and stats to upgrade as you build the ultimate survivor.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR SURVIVAL

Use sandbox mode to tailor your survival experience by adjusting settings like spawn rates and resource availability. Try surviving additional game scenarios such as Out of Stock, Crowd, and Frozen Zombies to discover new ways to play Terminus: Zombie Survivors.

Good game, There are no issues however the default hotkeys are horrendous. It's not optimal because all important keys are spread apart. It stacks up potential time wasted, breaking pacing in a turn based game. So here's my personal Hotkeys, I designed this based on my habits of playing FPS games and other strategy games like X-COM and Darkest Dungeon. Grab (Q) Inventory (E) Take All (W) Attack (A) Craft (S) Cook (D) Sleep (Z) Change Locations (C) Map (V)

This game is very well made, and clearly a lot of work has been put into it. However, I do have a few criticisms. Fire spreads too quickly(imo), the only religion represented is christianity, and the mechanic where novels give you less morale every time you read them is stupid. You could make system where a character can get more, or less, interested in a novel, or even retain the same level of interest the whole time. Also, it'd be cool to have musicians and instruments in the game as another way of gaining morale, with the tradeoff of attracting zombies. It'd also be cool to see houses, and other buildings that have more than one floor. Plus it'd be cool to see even more items added to the game. And one last thing, if you're gonna have religion in the game, add more relegions, like Judaism and Islam.

I love zombie survival like this and the retro vibe makes it easy to learn and fun to play

Fun game with all the things you might want in a zombie survival crafter, but simpler. I find the turn based aspect of the game refreshing and the many 'hidden' endings fun to strive towards.

Summary: Great game, overpriced considering how many hours of gameplay go into it before it feels repetitive but that could vary based on the interests of the player. The game has a great concept overall. I haven't encountered turn-based games with a system similar to this one. It is awkward at times, but an interesting difference! It has a final state which is reaching the Terminus - however the difficulty getting there depends on a number of factors. For most of the gameplays I went through it wasn't that difficult to get to the Terminus - once you know that the game always starts on the south side and the Terminus is one of the blocks at the North side of the map. It seems like the replayibility of the game depends on the occupation of the starting player, randomized map, and special places that contains boats, helicopters, etc. There are variation factors I have not encountered in my gameplay, such as boats, helicoptors and so forth. I'm projecting many (similar to me) will not replay the game just to win with every occupation - though I'm sure there are people who might be into that. Compared to a game I would find more addictive like Project Zomboid, knowing there is…
