Dead Man´s Diary

Well, I've put a little over 8 hours into the game by now, and until 1 hour ago, I really wanted to give the game a positive review. That changed because suddenly I'm stuck in an endless death loop and there is no escape. Without posting spoilers, I got to a part where you need to hack a computer to activate a pump, so you can safely leave some subway tunnels. While heading out, there is a cutscene. As soon as i get the controls back, i have about 10 seconds left before i'm running out of health and die. I've tried many times to escape, eventually finding enough items to craft medics, but there's no crafting station or camp that I can reach before my time runs out. Before that happened, I wanted to say that the game has a really pleasant end-time atmosphere, nice graphics, an inviting world design and very decent voice-acting. Following the story was interesting enough to keep me playing, even if the survival mechanics and wayfinding were annoying right from the start. The character needs water and food literally every few minutes. This feels excessive, but if you somehow manage to keep this needy man alive, you'll also have to deal with his declining health. All right, so it IS buggy and the balance needs polish buuuut it isn't impossible. Don't play if you can't understand that indie game feel, this is covered in it. If you don't mind indie games and want to scratch that alone in a post apocalyptic world feel, then I can easily recommend this but SAVE OFTEN. Have 4 or 5 revolving saves because it would be easy to ruin your run by overwriting your only save and the game bugs enough that you will have to reload a bunch. The hacking can be unforgiving so make sure you use a firewall on each node before taking it and watch walkthroughs to get past impossible situations bc it is definitely bull bull sometimes. Once you understand its tricks etc then you will do well.

The preview is better than the game it self. easy to get lost and die a lot. It feels like a ripped off version of Fallout.

had high expectations, but was quickly let down. it's pretty much a looting simulator and nothing else really to go with it. only made it to the night with the bear before uninstalling the game. wasn't much fun. decided not to listen to all the negative reviews but i should have.

The setting of the game is good, however the horrible voice acting sucks, add in bugs galore. Everytime you pick up a note the game bugs and you have to crash it just to fix it, where starts you from the beginning all over again. What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ turd, skip it unless you love wasting time
