Well 44 hours played, all the achievements.. my review needs to be positive! xD I look at this game as a very positive easy-brain tactical, just how I like it. It has some grinding, but not too much, just the needed. I enjoyed became overpower with Berry, being the master of blessings with Zeula and the dance king with Lumiere. I didn´t like played with Arnn because looks like the fury skill needs to have some reset-action/reset-energy, but maybe is because how to play with him, he is a character to take risks. Congrats to the developer's team! I love to play some good made indie pixel game like this one.3 found this helpful
Dead Weight is a positional turn-based tactics game centered on yeeting dudes out of the map in a manner that calls to mind the most gratifying bits of Fights in Tight Spaces. Sign me up immediately. This game has a lot going for it---notably, it has some really impressive pixel art and a pretty satisfying gameplay loop. On a tactical level, there's decent variety; however, Dead Weight is never particularly difficult---the most challenging part of the game is figuring out how some of the unintuitive and unexplained gameplay mechanics work, and once you do, every bit of it becomes trivial. At the end of the day, I got a good 20+ hours out of Dead Weight, and I'm glad I picked it up. Recommended.3 found this helpful
i like it but just randomly lost a 22 hour save... *Edit: gonna change it to recommended because you offered to help, save issue needs fixing for future players though. I might've fat fingered the delete on accident but i think it was from closing the game while saving. No backups in my save folder and i dont really have the time to debug with y'all as much as I'd like to help.1 found this helpful
Seen that game releasing soon from one of podcasts i watch, thought it looked like Into the breach, decided to give it a go. Now 100% and 25 hours later i have enjoyed it quite a bit. Lost maybe couple of runs at the beginning learning mechanics, a bit too easy after that never lost a run until the very end. Balance patches made it a bit more challenging, but still too easy if you know what you doing.1 found this helpful
I like the game. Only problems that I found out: - Counter attack works on every damage if your character is on a adjusted cell, even if you not directly attack an enemy. Maybe it's a feature. - UI/UX. Sometimes it's hard to understand what is going on. For example I have no clue why some weapons have no damage. It's a bug with weapon? It's a feature? - MOST IMPORTANT. I don't like steam description and tags. I didn't get that this game is a roguelike game. My first half of hour I was thinking that this game is a very bad, poor RPG without any value. The game is good, but I was expecting something really different from it.1 found this helpful
Seems like a good game overall aside from a game breaking UI bug. This game has telegraphed enemy attack square for a more chess like experience and the attacked squares are highlighted red. However, one specific attack does not show correctly. Shotgun cone attacks show the finally three but not the initial square. This would not be such a big deal if this attack did not oneshot you. So far the game has been very easy accept and then boom, suddenly run is over because the UI lied.1 found this helpful
