About Dear Brother
Dear Brother is an original horror adventure game planned and developed over the summer of 2020. It's heavily inspired by other Japanese horror RPGs such as Ib and The Witch's House, and was designed very much so to mimic the feel of older RPGMaker games. While not as unforgiving as some of its inspirations, death *is* in its design, so make sure to save often! The story of Dear Brother takes place in the childhood home of a character named Audrey, who had decided to return home after finishing her studies. However, after waking up from a nap, strange things begin to happen around her... Audrey can't make out whether the events she's experiencing are hallucinations or memories. She knows she's forgetting something, but she doesn't know what.

I'm very impressed by this game super underrated. I surprisingly enjoyed it more than expected with my 4-hours of gameplay and getting all achievements. This game has been sitting in my library for 4-years, and I'm glad I finally gave it a chance.2 found this helpful
Mild horror game with elements of chase sequences. Story-telling was pretty decent for a free game. Overall a great game. 7/101 found this helpful
"Dear Brother" is a badly made retro-esque (but inauthentic looking) adventure game where you control a little girl with amnesia (a remarkably common plot device for amateur developers, literally hundreds of games on Steam follow this plot line) and you have to explore a spooky house. With bad graphics. What do you do in the game? Just really bad adventuring stuff, clicking through bad dialogue, wrestling with the pure jank of the UI and lack of polish on this disaster. This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now... mostly because of the rather lazy and hideous low poly backdrop, and pixelcrap textures, and pixelcrap billboarded sprites. 5 years ago we were playing Far Cry 6 and stopping just to look around at the awesome scenery, but these guys decided what gamers really wanted was pixelcrap. They were wrong. Let's talk about price and the value this represents for us gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be…
If there was a mixed option I would have picked that probably. It doesn't really have a lot going on but it's free and I always enjoy seeing what small projects random game devs online get up to. It plays fine for the most part but isn't super interesting. The walking animation doesn't really look right but whatever cause at least it works. I might be wrong but it looks like this was made using rpg paper maker which I don't see very often so that was something I enjoyed about this. Story didn't really do it for me but it's not like I expected a masterpiece anyways. tldr: It's fine
