Killer is way TOO Obvious!
This is an interesting VN that takes the setting of a travelling circus in US. Pity if it had been voiced it would been even more great. Story: Fine Nothing super fantastic or plot twisting it is pretty mediocre in my opinion, with the logical flow. also a bit confusing at times. There seems to be a lot of unanswered questions. You follow the journey of a detective and a replacement magician for an employee that goes missing in a famous circus troupe. You also have to solve the mystery under a time frame and with limited actions, which is unique but can be a bit challenging. The lead ring master had gone missing and the replacement which is a volunteer requested by her hopes that she can find what happened to her once you finish a single hour with her then it automatically switches to the detective who gets robbed mysteriously right off the bat. There are a lot of character endings which honestly you can get in one playthrough also. So all in all just find the murderer i guess, the murder scene is unique and you can think in different angles, evidence are scattered around in a way that everyone can be a suspect. The interesting…

A really solid entry in the difficult world of detective visual novels. Bold enough to experiment but not so brazen as to think it can completely re-invent the wheel. Clearly born out of a love for the genre. The biggest strength is the freedom and versatility given to the player in the way they investigate. There's really no "wrong" way to play, and the extent to which dialogues will naturally reflect the things players have learned is almost startling. The mechanics are creative without being overcomplicated, and the core loop is compelling. The characters and writing are (mostly) strong; Chip and Echo are a bit too much like caricatures for my taste, but Aideen, Rolf, and particularly Moses feel complex and deeply human. There are a fair few typos throughout, which is unsurprising considering the sheer volume of dialogue available, but still jarring at times. This does lead to a few confusing moments where it's unclear whether what seems to be a mistake is another genuine error, or an actual clue. The aesthetics are strong, but sometimes conflicting. The snazzy, stylized transitions don't really mesh with the earnest story-book painterly style of the main scenes. Feels like …

Based on price alone. The story is okay-ish. There's not much detective work here, since most choices are funneled into 1 or 2 places to go or person to ask. Lots of filler that does a good job of explaining the characters or the setting, but aside from this there isn't much gameplay. It's almost a visual novel. 5 hrs of well presented entertainment, I just wish there was more cases.

It's a good game, I really liked it. But a lot of my enjoyment came from the character writing and the characters' narratives, not from figuring out the mystery at hand. I'd say the mystery and the investigation are much more a framework to explore the characters, rather than the actual narrative focus. So if you are looking for an intricate murder mystery, this might not be for you. Edit to add: I do think full price is a bit expensive, I finished my first playthorugh in 5.5 hours

a pretty good mystery game. if you play a lot of these & enjoy the genre, i think you'll find this one enjoyable, though you will enjoy it more if you prefer heavily character-driven stories (and maybe less if you don't). the save system is VERY generous which i really appreciate as a dyed-in-the-wool save scummer :p it has some flaws, but nothing that makes me regret the time i spent with it (which is somewhat less than shown due to me accidentally leaving the game running in the background), and the things it does well and/or interestingly make up for it.

A fun detective visual novel. The circus vibe is great, the characters are well written, and there's some cool twists and turns along the way.
