Deathless: The City's Thirst

Wow... That was... Rather pointless. Word of advice: stick with the 1st game - as several other reviewers have already stated, it's by FAR the superior of the two... *Le sigh*... Honestly, times like these, I'm really forced to wonder why I keep bothering with these text adventures..? (Sadness over lack of Fallen Hero pt2 intensifies)

2/5. The Previous game was significantly better. This one was good, until the end. Very anti-climatic. Not really worth playing or buying in my opinion, and that's saying something since I would recommend every other 'choice of games' game that I've played.

I enjoyed the first one better, as here you don't really have a connection of the Craft to the Law, which was imo one of the best parts of game 1. But it's been fun nevertheless and I recommend the game.

Such a treat to stumble upon a creatively crafted urban fantasy series (Craft Sequence, see what I'm doing here? Wink wink), and then to discover TWO IFs set in the same world by the author! Absolutely delightful! MC is a corporate necromancer, similar to that in Choice of Deathless, fighting for water rights around the desert metropolis city. The writing is still sharp, keeping a crisp pace with a more put together plot than Deathless. Volume-wise it is on the lighter end, but is polished and has meaningful choices.

A very well done text game

Deathless: City's Thirst, is well written and well-paced, and definitely a favorite of mine in the choose-your-own-adventure novels. (Max Gladstone also authored a book series based in this setting, if you enjoyed the game.) High replay value, and an interesting real-world historical nod to the St. Francis Damn (though events can play out differently, depending).
