Neighbourhood Necromancer

I didn’t like "Neighbourhood Necromancer". While the story was occasionally original and sometimes exciting, there were no interesting people to care about, and even if there were, you didn’t have enough time to get to know them. (4/10) The biggest problem is that there’s very little reason to care about anything at all in the bland in-game world. No deep relationships to nurture or factions to find out about. No deep lore to discover and no twists and turns to navigate. The gameplay didn’t fare much better. I was never sure what stats would be used or gained before making choices, resulting in failures, and the game is also short. In addition, I never got a satisfying conclusion despite playing through it several times. With that said, it’s not an awful read or anything, just below average. It might be worth getting if it’s on sale or you want to play as a lonely necromancer for an hour. (4/10)

The best place for it is your sock drawer.”[/b] If this sounds like something you have heard while sitting around a table playing D&D, you have a pretty good idea of what this title is going to read like. I felt like I was playing single-player D&D with a kid fresh out of middle-school running the table. Considering the first few pages and choices of the game, I’m not sure I wasn’t. And you know what? That isn’t a bad thing. [b]General Story:[/b] You are a kid living a very British (I’m American, so pardon) life in a very British town, eating very British food who finds a very British ‘genuine occult artifact’. I know everything is very British because Google Sheets keeps putting red lines under ‘neighbourhood’, ‘colour’, and ‘centre’. The story follows in a very irreverent way as you choose how to use your newfound powers for good or evil and determine what becomes of the very British town. Will you raise your town’s spirits? Yes. Is that a pun? Maybe. [b]Format and Typos:[/b] This is an earlier choice title before they settled on their preferred format, so it doesn’t seem quite as polis…

Weak Interactive Fiction.

This game is super solid. It is funny and allows players to live out their fantasies of killing people who have wronged them. The characters of [spoiler] the Banshee [/spoiler] and [spoiler] the vampire [/spoiler] are in particular very well-written and compelling due to being funny and having distinct personalities. However, I wish we got to see more of them. Instead, we are given two random love interests who are totally empty, forgettable and uninteresting. Who tf gives a ♥♥♥♥ about Sam and Max? Seriously, just cut them from the game, that would be so much better.

A simple hour-long adventure with a few chuckles thrown in.

Not sure why this is so badly rated, I really enjoyed it. Quirky and fun.
