About DEEP SLEEP

DEEP SLEEP: VR is a dialogue focused choose-your-own-adventure experience where you will enter into the thought experiment: What if a solution to the present's problems is simply to wait until the future? Based on your choices in dialogue the protocol builds a custom short film describing the choices you've made and estimates and requests for the future you have decided to wait for.Features:
  • Multiple Endings
  • 20 - 40 minutes of gameplay
  • fully voice acted
At the heels of environmental collapse on earth, you are presented with details of the only two possible futures left for humanity, to return to earth and rebuild or start over on another planet—all after an extended period of hibernation, waiting for the earth to regenerate itself and habitable planets to be identified. Which will you choose? To stay or to go?Play as your future self, complete the Deep Sleep Protocol to build your preferred future whether that it on earth or in a far away galaxy. The protocol will present you an estimation of your future to prepare you before entering hibernation for millennia.DEEP SLEEP is the debut game of Proxima Projects (solo development by new media artist with collaboration and support from other visual and performance artists).

✦ AI summary

Players find the game's core concept of a visual novel experience in VR promising, but criticize its execution as bland and generic across multiple aspects. The narrative lacks engagement with dry writing, the choice system feels shallow and uninspired, and the virtual environments fail to captivate visually, leaving the overall experience disappointing compared to similar VR offerings.

This is basically a VN for VR with virtual environments you can visually enjoy. Unfortunately, if you compare it to other such experiences in VR, this one falls short. The narrative is written in a very dry manner. It's an interesting premise, but it's execution is rather generic. Choose your own adventure, but where the choices given are bland. The VR environments are also bland. It's just an overall bland game. Rate 4/10. I wasted my money so you don't have to.
