About Deer Journey

Deer Journey is a third person walking simulator game, where you will be joining a fawn that has been outcasted by the rest of the deers, after discovering its particular appearance. The young fawn was born partially albino. Get to know his story, share the journey together, find moments of similarity with life and, above all, enjoy in a peaceful game where its nature scenery and soundtrack stand out.

Main features:

  • Get to know the story of the fawn through its experiences, without dialogue or literal narration.
  • Enjoy an immersive soundtrack while accompanying the fawn on his journey.
  • Short adventure (about 45 minutes) focused on scenery, music and the journey of the fawn.
  • If you liked Shelter and The First Tree, you have to try it!

The graphics were the best thing about this game. The lush forest and later on the realistic thunderstorm and rain and burning fire in the forest made this game stand out. The silent story of wathcing our baby deer grow up into an adukt deer was good too but sadly what let thus game down was the poor navigation and or instructions. There was no voiceover, no instructions on where to go or what to do. Several times I chose to follow the dirth path but that oftne led me to a dead end or an inviisble wall which blocked me off. There was one frusrating level with the waterfall. I went around eveywhere and was met with invisible walls and the only way I could see was across the river and using the rocks to help me across, but I tried 15-20 times to do do and the game fought me every step of the way and the game would either push my deer back on to the grass where I came from or drown me for trying. I could see there was a path on the other side clearly but the game wouldn't let me across. In the end I skipped the level from the (ESC) which has a "Skip level" feature which was nice. The burning fire in the forest area was a good job and the valley thunderstorm and rain shower. 2 …

I don't think a single breathing, thinking human being worked on this game.

I really enjoyed this game a lot, the environment was beautiful and the storytelling without any words was very cool. The only problems I have with this game are not really problems but mostly preferences. I wish the Deer were more realistic and there were two other alive creatures in the game, birds and the fire flies. I wish there were more background animals for a more realistic feel. Otherwise the game was short yet very fun to play and it did make me feel bad for the baby deer you play as. Highly recommend if you like nature and animals.

Oh boy. I'm not sure how to go about this review. Because on one hand, if this is someone's first game or some kind of student project, it's really nice. It's simple and a little rough around the edges, but sweet. I can see the vision. There are a lot of elements here that feel like someone is testing out how to program game mechanics, yet they are trying to make it a cohesive and enjoyable experience while doing so. However, as a game that you pay money for, even $6 is a bit much to ask for. You can beat this game in under an hour. The models and animations are okay but not great. The scenes are lackluster and sometimes unclear how to navigate. The game in general is kind of clunky and I even experienced some glitches that forced me to restart the game. Not to mention that really weird "choice" the player has to make toward the end in order to get the achievements. I don't want to spoil anything in my review, but basically, you're introduced to a brand new mechanic and are instantly punished for using it. This game isn't great. If someone who was still learning how to make a game showed this to me, I'd think it was amazing! However, without that context, this just feels like a h…

Bought this to get 100% achievements on and then saw it only had two achievements. Went ahead and played it, got both achievements but it can't even be displayed as a perfected game. The game runs poorly on my pc, even on lower graphics, which considering what it is, I do not understand. It is a shame as I do like the concept and anything to do with rare furs always interests me...but unless you maybe grab it for free, it is simply not worth it.
