About Defunct
A broken robot must navigate a post-human Earth using a gravity-manipulation engine to race back to its cargo ship before departure. Defunct combines high-speed platforming with physics-based movement across 11 diverse levels, offering time trials and unlockable tricks for speedrun competition.
You are equipped with a Gravitize engine. It is used to create a separate gravity around yourself; this is the main source of your speed. Use this in downhills to accelerate. But be careful, using it uphill will slow you down. In addition to this the world is full of different speed boosts such as Enerjuice, which you can pick up and use to go faster.
These tools enable you to drive through the world, meet strange robots, fly through junkyards and boost your way back to your ship.

Fun momentum platformer. It has a nice aesthetic, calming music and tight controls. The narrative is nearly non existant, but serviceable. I'd say one of it's biggest disadvantages is that it's pretty short. Sure, you have time attacks and collectables, but still. In any case, I recommend this game, though I'd say it's better to grab it at discount.
The game is good. Feels like how I want the 3d sonic the hedgehog games to play.

[h1]Rating: 8/10 -Good[/h1] Defunct is one of those small little indie games with a cool and unique idea. You are a unicycle robot whose engine broke down inside a spaceship. You need to get to a repair shop. You need to use gravity to your advantage. You have the ability to gravitize to the ground. Doing this while going downhill will create momentum. On the way to the repair shop, you get launched outside of the spaceship onto the planet's surface. You now have to find a way back to the spaceship. You traverse different areas of the planet and solve small puzzles. You sometimes enter a big area with buttons scattered around. You have to find a way to activate them all to open a gate. The feeling of speed is addicting and you're always on the lookout for the next big slope to gain more momentum. This gameplay belongs in a Sonic game. It's a short little experience with a bit of replay value thanks to time trials, collectibles and alternate routes.
It's a classic.
what if sonic adventure and journey had a baby? well, you'd get this game. fantastic momentum based speed with lots of exploration and a healthy dose of puzzles. my only complaint is that its too short, other than that, a solid 7/10
