Depths of Peril

Please for the love of God, remaster this or find a way to give it a sequel with multiplayer. To this day no game has really nailed this formula anywhere near as well.

childhood classic, the faction system was ahead of its time i would love to see a remaster of this.

Depths of Peril is one of those rare action-RPGs that refuses to sit neatly in a single genre box. Developed and published by Soldak Entertainment, it blends fast-paced hack-and-slash combat with faction rivalry, political maneuvering, and emergent world simulation. What might look like a Diablo-style indie ARPG at first glance quickly reveals itself to be something more experimental: a dynamic world where your hero is only one part of a larger struggle for dominance among competing barbarian covenants. Action RPG with diplomacy. A little bit obscure and clunky, but it is still worth playing as it has some mechanics that I didn't see in other games.

Depths of Peril is a unique beast. It's a mix of a Diablo style hack and slash and a town/clan building sim. Almost everything is randomly generate givng a unique playthrough everytime. The graphics are a bit dated but, they are nice and bright and the sound is top notch! It can be a bit of a time sink but, that's a good thing in my book! All in all it's a must buy for any serious gamer. There is really nothing else like it. Not even the other soldak titles which are all great in there own ways.
