Gameplay

You play as either the detective or an innocent, and each time a different character has been killed. Each round you must interrogate people to gather clues to try deduce who it may be. Clues on the floor can help you. Once you know who it is, if you are innocent you must go to the detective and tell them your thoughts, or if your detective you can arrest the suspect. Be careful though, the murderer may kill more people and if you take too long, all the innocents could die and you lose..

Good luck trying to solve the Murder At The House!

If you give everyone the same name, everyone dies at game start and you're left with an empty mansion. Rip BOB. edit: This was patched out.

It's a game where the player has to interrogate NPC's they're stuck in a house with to figure out who the murderer is. Most of my playtime has been on the Normal difficulty. When you talk with NPC's, they'll eventually give you dialogue saying something like "I saw Emma near the room where the murder happened" or "I saw Rylee acting suspicious". You can also find notes on the ground after each murder, giving you a hint as to who the murderer is. The first note says a letter that the murderer's name contains, the second seems to say the murderer's gender. You have enough time to talk to most, if not all, of the NPC's before the second kill happens, so you wind up running around the house in a loop aimlessly waiting for the second kill to happen so then you can gather more information. However, often enough, the first hint is enough to single out and successfully catch the murderer, since it may say "The murderer's name has the letter R in it" and out of all the people the NPC's told you acted suspicious, only one has the letter R in their name. But, in cases where that doesn't happen, you need to keep running in a loop until things can be further narrowed down, or you just randoml…

Worth the price, and it's what I was hoping to get out of the game. My only complaint is that the customization doesn't work, and settings don't save between sessions, though reading other reviews, the customization thing may be due to others abusing the mechanic. Would love to be able to see people's names more easily in menus or when talking to them. Also there's a bug where if you click multiple times on a letter clue it will tell you different letters each time, making it very easy to narrow it down to one person.

I think there is a lot to be added to this game. For one, the customization doesn't work so I'd fix that if I was the developer. Number 2, I would add multiplayer lobbys. If you can't do this, then I would rec. adding a way to choose what role you play. Number 3, add different maps. And number 4, maybe keep track of wins and losses, and those with each role. That way there is somewhat of an incentive to win. Maybe even add a shop where you get currency each time you win and you can buy skins or something. It's a great concept (I assume inspired by Among Us), and it has a lot of potential!
