About Diastone: Memories
Our story begins in 1910 in Transylvania, where Adam Taylor, a nineteen-year-old boy, lives with his parents in a house on the edge of civilization. One day, upon returning home, Adam hears that his parents have started quarreling in the attic. Suddenly, all the lights in the house turn off. Picking up an old oil lamp, Adam goes in search of his parents. However, when he reaches the attic, there is nobody there. An unknown man has appeared in his house, and all the rooms have changed. Time has ceased to have a specific meaning.
In one of the rooms, Adam finds a note from an unknown person who claims to be Adam Taylor. Who is he? What does he have to do with what's happening to Adam?
This story continues in the twenty-first century, when Edward, an orphan, starts living in the very house where Adam's family once settled. He encounters the same creature. Will history repeat itself? How will Edward cope with this power? What happened to Adam?

What Steam players say

Players praise Diastone for its unique approach to psychological horror that emphasizes atmosphere and world-shifting disorientation over jump scares, with an engaging non-linear narrative spanning different time periods that creates genuine tension. Common criticisms include unclear puzzle objectives that encourage aimless clicking, pacing issues with excessive wandering between triggers, and occasional lapses in the photorealistic visuals, though many overlook these flaws given the game's novel concept and emotional storytelling.
This was very unusual. Unlike typical horror games, there won't be just puzzles in the locations here. After leaving a room, we literally step into another world. The space around distorts, and you don't know what to expect next. It was fascinating. The plot is interesting, the 20th-century theme creates a spooky atmosphere, but all these shifts in the world were a bit disorienting. The game is clearly not bad, if you love horrors not for jump scares but for tension and vibe, this game is for you. The game's narrative is unusually presented in that we, as the viewer, see it in fragments, as if you yourself are part of a dream or nightmare. The game begins with an ordinary house, but the further you go, the more alien and implausible it becomes.1 found this helpful
A fun early access game with lots of bugs that are excusable. A very interesting idea by the author. I wish him good luck and promotion, as I liked the game!1 found this helpful
A smart and emotional puzzle game. The story and puzzles fit perfectly together. Solving each challenge feels great and helps you understand the characters better. A very memorable and satisfying experience from beginning to end.
DIASTONE tries to be the “photorealistic psychological horror” that relies more on atmosphere than cheap jumpscares. The shifting house, switching rooms, switching time periods — that actually works. You don’t just walk — you constantly wait for the space to turn against you again. That part is great. The story also hooks you because it’s not linear. 1910 → modern era → back again. The game tries to confuse you on purpose, and sometimes that’s part of the gameplay loop. But here are the downsides: • Sometimes the pacing feels stretched (you wander too long for one trigger) • Often not obvious what the game expects — you end up “clicking everything” • Photorealism looks good in places, but sometimes looks like static photos with very little life And yeah — even though people compare it to P.T., this is not P.T. 2.0. Less “meta horror”, more slow dark exploration.
Diastone: Memories is a captivating game that beautifully blends storytelling with immersive gameplay. The graphics are stunning, creating a rich atmosphere that draws you in. The puzzles are challenging yet satisfying, keeping you engaged throughout. I love how the narrative unfolds, making every moment feel meaningful. Highly recommend!
