Such a great game. It's such a basic concept: counting to 21. But you made a game out of it. It's an pretty good idea off of something so simple. I like it. You made characters (Layla and Player), story (as shown in the intro video), a game (THIS ONE), and even various settings (DLCs). It's a good idea. I like this game, you should too.

Do NOT say 21! is a very simple game, but I actually found the basic idea pretty entertaining. The entire experience is built around one strange rule that I have to follow, and the title itself gives me a pretty big clue about what that rule is. It has the kind of silly presentation that makes it feel like the game knows exactly how ridiculous its premise is. I liked that it does not take itself too seriously. The main challenge is all about avoiding the forbidden number. I have to pay attention to the numbers appearing during the game and make sure I do not accidentally trigger the one thing I am not supposed to say. It sounds incredibly basic, but I found that the simplicity makes mistakes surprisingly funny. Once I get into the rhythm, I start paying much more attention than I initially expected. I also liked how quickly the game gets to the point. There is not a huge tutorial or a complicated collection of systems to learn. I can understand the basic objective almost immediately and start trying to improve. That makes it the kind of game I can play for a few minutes without needing to remember a huge amount of information. It works particularly well as a small distraction. T…
