I really wish Steam would allow for a "mixed" review. I didn't hate this game, I didn't love it. I enjoyed it for what it was, thus the positive review, but it's not something that was overly mind-blowing and I can see why it may get negative reviews. With that in mind, this is the dev's first horror game, so I went in with little expectation and enjoyed myself. This game is very simplistic and short, This game takes place in the Phasmophobia school map (YES THAT ONE) where you have to run around gathering items and solving puzzles to escape from the numerous creepy dolls roaming the halls. You begin to understand the origin of the dolls and their purpose, and why you have been kidnapped to this location. PROS: * The lockers are the scariest part (LMAO) * Dolls are creepy looking but repetitive (no variation) * Story is simple and easy to understand * Multiple auto-saves CONS: * Not a unique or engaging environment (rehashed asset) * Controller support is poor (attempted 8-bit Pro Duo) * Sound design is mediocre * Additional "monsters" are awkward and seem VERY out of place in the game * The game ended very quickly and left me saying "Wait, that's it?" * Once an enemy sees you …7 found this helpful
First of all I want to mention that this game is not all bad. The beginning, playable entirely in the demo, feels the most polished with decent scares, sound design and a small puzzle. Even though moving mannequins are rather generic you used them to great effect in the puzzle section and at the ending of the first chapter. Also, the locker scare was rather unexpected the first time. This made me chuckle a bit afterwards, as well as the "You Dead" screen. Sadly, this is where most of the good parts end. The game doesn't really evolve, with more counting and even a math puzzle, that would have been just plain annoying without a pen and paper. The enemies don't feel interesting, with the build up enemy, in chapter one, having just a small part before poofing out of existence. Especially the end chase is rather frustrating with the player just having to guess the right way or dying. Trial and error is fine but not fitting for a scene that is supposed to be scary and the climax of your game. One thing that's also worth mentioning is that you are not able to use your mouse while in menus or being able to at least navigate the menu with spacebar presses instead of enter. With all th…4 found this helpful
It's an excellent game for those who enjoy indie horror games! Every detail is appreciated, as various elements in the maps help the player better understand the story and what is happening. The environment is richly detailed, and the dolls... Well, I wouldn't mind finding one like that in real life, since they have unique characteristics. Therefore, I highly recommend this indie production! ⢠⠊⣉⠒⠤⢀⡀ ⡐⢁⠴⢜⢄ ⡎⢸ ⠉⠐⠢⢌⠑⢄ ⡸ ⡆ ⠣⠱⡀ ⡇⢸ ⣀⠗ ⠉⠉⠁ ⠙⠢⠤⡀⢃⢱ ⡇⠘⣄⢀⠔⠉ ⠈⠁⠘⡄ ⢇ ⠁ ⠘⡄ ⢸ ⢀⣀⣀⡀ ⢀⣀⣀⡀ ⢣ ⡸ ⢴⣾⡿⠿⠽⠇ ⠘⠛⠛⠛ ⠈⢄ ⠰⡁ ⢠⠒⠢⡀⠈⠒⠊ ❤ ⡠⢄ ⡘ ⠱⣀ ⢀⠜ ⠇ ⢀⠔⠁ ⡏ ⠑⠤⢄⣀⠔⠁ ⡜ ⠊⠁ ⢀⠜3 found this helpful
A short indie horror game. It takes about an hour and a half to finish. I personally enjoyed my time playing the game. I love the whole doll thing and their scripted uncanny movements.1 found this helpful
Sometimes I don't like leaving negative reviews. This horror started off good with being trapped in a school and being confonted by standing mannequin dolls and them to eventually moving and racing at you so it scares you. At least you didn't have to hide in lockers etc. I am leaving a negative review because the game completely changed focus and became an annoyance and frustrating rather than tense and scary by the last part where you find yourself in a crop field and monsters roaming and you have to creep around and avoid them. The problem is you can't crouch so you'll rustle among the crops and the enemies always apot you. I tried everything the developer mentioned to me such as hiding behind trees, rocks, walking past, running past to the next area to no avail. The enemies always spotted me. In the end I got tired of it and just stood there while the enemy spotted me and killed me. Game completely lost the plot and became frustrating to me. Uninstalled. First part of the game 8/10, End part 2/10. Didn't finish this horror game and no interest in trying another 10 times or more. Uninstalled. Terrible end part in my opinion. Maybe, just maybe I might one day come back to this a…
