More doom
I liked The Dark Ages when it came out, but was ultimately slightly disappointed because it didn't live up to the highs of the previous installments of this modern Doom trilogy. It couldn't match the elegant minimalist storytelling and heavy atmosphere of 2016 and neither the mechanical perfection of Eternal's gameplay. While I appreciated the classic Doom inspired weaving in between the projectiles, it always stayed just within the realm of me liking it, but never quite loving it. Dark Ages base campaign gameplay is in my eyes about the player achieving more by doing less. I actually noticed this by coming back to my old clips of doing the UN of TAG1 in Eternal which, barring master levels, is the most intense stretch of the game and compared them to my gameplay from some of the tougher Ripatorium challenges in TDA. And that way I clearly saw that I'm theoretically doing more in TDA, I juggle more enemies, rip and tear more demons. But ultimately the controls are so streamlined, simple and intuitive (which from a different perspective is a feat of smart design) it never quite rivalled the raw satisfaction of mashing half the keyboard at once in Eternal, nor the old school simpl…
peak
It is really different game from the previous entries , doom eternal was a fast paced gun juggling shooter where you had to use 100% of your weaponry to survive , in this game you are more of a slow tank , you don't have to use all the weapons and you can stick to just your favourites which I really liked , in all this a really good game but a bit different from past doom games.
it is fun
Genuine banger. It's insane to have a trilogy of games that not only rule but each game has a very unique gameplay feel that is executed so beautifully that it really is up to preference on which is your favorite. Prayers out for Id Software.
