Wow. This is just... not. good. I liked the original games, but this ain't it chieftain. Sad to say, but it's a washed up husk of its former self. Just seems like a money grab tbh. Can't recommend this.3 found this helpful
This is a generic, repetitive platformer wearing Drawn To Life as a skinsuit. The "Drawn" part is either creating your character or doing drawings for npcs. There's nothing that impacts gameplay unlike the previous titles. I would say this game is an overall downgrade in almost every single way, except the art. Just get an emulator and play The Next Chapter, you'll definitely have a better time.2 found this helpful
I just could not get into this from the start. It lacks all the charm of the original, and immediately felt disjointed and slow. I'm very bummed as a long time fan of the series.
Just . . . . egh. Oh yeah, you can draw a character, that part is alright. But they clearly had none of the series' gameplay in mind. This was birthed from a platformer type genre. And said platforming incorporated a lot of things you are prompted to draw. Not . . . not here. It is a very plain puzzle game with provided uniform preset blocks, objects, whatnot, akin to a . . . combo of mousetrap and . . . I wanna say Bad Piggies??? At least, the scoring system and overall progression is a lot like a Rovio title. It gets to be a very boring and tiresome loop for a franchise that is known for fun and creative level design. That's just . . . sad, I expected way more.
I really wish THQ hadn't gone bankrupt. I cannot recommend this game, not because it's just flat out worse than its DS brothers, but because it lost all of its charm the past games had. And that's justified by the lack of releases, the Drawn to Life series went from making games on the DS to jumping right to Steam. And when they did this last thing, THQ had already gone bankrupt years ago. They grabbed the ideas from the past games and threw them down a well, you barely draw anything that's vital to levels (which are all puzzles, forget the idea of going from place to place and exploring each level closely to get a collectable). This is a flawed continuation to DtL: The Next Chapter, it really sucks that the whole game series took a grave downfall, but seeing as this was developed by a different company with different ideas in mind, it doesn't surprise me.
Aldark is too powerful, broke the game at his introduction. 10/10 get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Wilfre.
