About Dungeons of Havoc

Dungeons of Havoc is an action fantasy game with intense physics-driven combat and deep melee fighting mechanics. Adventure through a hand-crafted linear open-world with relentless, heart-pounding encounters, fearsome monsters, and a wide array of unique and powerful items to discover.
  • Engage in combat using light and heavy melee attacks with a three-part combo system that triggers when you hold the attack button.
  • Block or parry melee and projectile attacks to negate damage and stagger your opponent when timed correctly. Blocking drains stamina, while parrying increases it.
  • NPCs make combat decisions based on their intelligence, weight, and preferences. Their movement uses modern pathfinding, similar to 3D games, with no patterns that players need to memorize.
  • Each playthrough uses a random seed to alter all monsters' stats.
  • A simple, retro 2D pixel art world with multiple biomes, featuring rich ambient sounds and original orchestral music.
  • The world follows a mostly linear path, eliminating the need for a map and ensuring it's always clear where to go next. Each area includes a teleport shrine that must be visited before it can be used for fast travel.
  • Minimal interface: no inventory management or skill systems. Only bosses display a health bar, and damage numbers are not shown.
  • Two modes: Adventure mode offers respawning, while Hardcore mode deletes your save file upon death.
  • The game offers three difficulty settings—Easy, Medium, and Hard—that affect the speed, intensity, and damage of various monsters and mechanics throughout the world.
  • A controller is recommended, but keyboard and mouse are also supported.
  • Loading a save or dying respawns the player at the last checkpoint location that was touched with all creatures respawned in the area.
  • Autosave manages five separate save files per playthrough, with deleted files hidden for six months before permanent deletion.
