Earth Analog

This game is wonderful, and is absolutly worth a purchace, but its not the game I bought. its very fun popping from planet to planet, harvesting resources, exploring the planet's texture and unique mechanics. But I much preferred the hand crafted linear experence, and would have liked the freeform exploration to be unlocked after that initial storyline as a reward. I cant find the torus planet, I cant find the portals that pop you between areas after you find everything there. I miss the almost horror element when the warning system starts going off and you have to figure out whats about to happen. It feels like the developer listened to the community a bit too hard and gave up their initial vision in a drive to appease them, with heavy influence from no mans sky. I have 0 intrest in base building or analyzing alien life, the flight has been simplified to the point I find it kind of boring seemingly because people didn't want to learn it (please make this a toggleable option), the procedural planets lack character since they dont end up being different enough vs the hand crafted algorythems, I would personally prefer being able to backdate to the older version of this game.

I want to recommend this on the faith of improvements, but as I write this, I've actually changed my mind to a negative review: The controls are rediculously tricky; EG: it wasn't until in-game that I could reverse y-axis on mouse & other essential settings appeared (I didn't yet try my ancient saitek flight-stick, but I doubt it). There doesn't appear to be any sensitivity options. I think there needs to be thruster controls for vertical & horizontal trajectories, but "falling to a planet surface" can be stopped with 'space-key' (retro thrusters) which feels counter/unintuitive behavior leading to a false sense of movement (no idea how fast the falling needs to be to end up in a crash - well there was an 'impact warning' but by then it was too late to adjust pitch up & thrust forward to avoid regardless of 'space-key' & considering you've got to face the land to scan). There desperately needs to be a standard-flight HUD display. There's no information on why I would need iron, etc. No information on how to get fuel - have to go to the moon & scan for fuel then do the mini-miner game (which is odd, but fine)... years ago when I tried this (maybe a demo), I think I was given clues t…

The controls are absolute dog water

Very dissappointed, controller suppport is advertised but in reality the developer only provides a steam input template that did not even work. If actual native controller support is implemented I'm happy to try again but for a game like this you don't want to expect your audience to fiddle around with steam inputs if you as a developer could provide that for them. Especially if the store pages suggests as much.

Interest concept but the performance was horrible. I haven't had many (if any) issues with any game and while my computer isn't amazing, it can run pretty much anything on medium-high graphics and maintain a stable 60fps. From the get-go in this game, even on the lowest graphics, could barely push past 35fps I don't recommend this game at the state it is in. It's clear that there's love for this game but until performance is improved I would avoid

This game is amazing for players who love exploring uncharted planets. It reminds me of NMS but without all the (personally) annoying alien language learning and stuff in the way of pure exploration. The outside of the ship looks a bit funny, but other than that it's a perfect game for unwinding after work! It can be relaxing once you understand the controls, with the help of inverting the mouse in settings (personal preference) it flies like a beaut. And the dev is very helpful :) cheers!
