About Earthling of Gaia

*******important note*******
Learning the earthbending system used in this game is not easy. It is advised to focus while playing the tutorial. Also you should watch bending tutorial videos on my youtube channel. If you don't want to commit to this intense learning, then I do not recommend you to play this game. If you ignore this note, then you will complain, that the hitboxes don't work, while you don't even throw an attack on the enemy.
This is my first finished and published game so far. Although I did my best, you should not expect AAA quality.*******important note*******

Earthling of Gaia is played in the first person perspective in VR.

It does count as action game, because the core game mode is to defeat waves of enemies. It's a simple wave defense game. It is important to know, that this game is just a small game.

Your main weapon against the incoming enemies will be your earthbending skills. You can manipulate the earth around you by using the motion of your hands. Once an enemy is hit by a stone, he will be stopped.

There is even waterbending.

The goal of the game is to defend your precious goddess Gaia. You will win, if you stop all incoming waves.

The game comes with different difficulty settings. If you are just here for role playing, you can play on easy mode. If you are here for a challenge, you can play on the impossible mode.

There are many different ways how to use your earthbending skills!

Watch the trailer for additional information about the earthbending system used in this game.

About Me:

I am a young solo developer. I developed this game in my free time, while working a full time job. I did not study game development. All my knowledge comes from online tutorials.

Although I give my best to to deliver you the most impressive gaming experience, I cannot promise that I am able to fix all bugs or keep a high quality standard compared to other games.

Technical Infos:

This game can only be played with a virtual reality headset and associated controllers for each hand.
The VR-device should have a joystick for moving. For Rotation the game supports snap turning.
There is only a single player mode.

✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the game's interesting earthbending mechanic, which is praised as intuitive and easier to learn than similar titles, though they note it's a straightforward wave-defense game that's fairly simple overall. However, many criticize the game's rough, unpolished execution with poor enemy hit detection, basic animations, frequent bugs, and a general sense that it plays like an early alpha prototype rather than a finished release, making the $7 price point difficult to justify.
Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/XKszn7LcHJc Good, interesting concept for a game. It is different than Rumble. Unfortunately, the game is poorly made. I would recommend saving your $3 USD and putting that towards Rumble VR if this game looks interesting to you. This game is not worth anything in its current full release state (out of Early Access). The gameplay is basic. Enemy models & animations look like stand-ins for a real game. This game looks, feels, & plays like a rough alpha prototype and not like a fully released game. The game barely functions. Sure, you can have some fun, if you ignore all the issues it has. Enemy hit box and hit detection is laughably bad. Enemies just keel over and disappear when they run into a solid object. The gesture based attacks are unreliable as the same gesture will you get you different results. That's the only reason I would fail on the wave based attacks by enemies. It's basically a wave-based shooter, only with gesture attacks. Yet, there's no reason to do anything other than throw rocks at enemies. The only reason to change up the attacks is try to make the game fun. Y…

I really like the game and ofcourse the earthbending. Learning earthbending is easier than in Rumble. After 30 minutes of practice I mastered earthbending. At the beginning I struggled a little bit in the tutorial. The developer of the game has a youtube channel. Watching his videos helped me learning earthbending. It is also important to say, that you shouldn't expect too much from the game. It is a simple wave defence game with simple enemies and a simple earthbending system. In my eyes the game is a bit overpriced with 7 €. I would definitely wait for a discount before buying. The game runs well at the moment when it comes to FPS. But you will experience here and there some bugs.
