EARTH DEFENSE FORCE: WORLD BROTHERS 2

As someone who has put hundreds of hours into this game series, I hate to leave a not recommended review; however, it is completely justified here. The game itself is great, and it's quite fun. It mixes up the dynamic by allowing you to play as 4 characters in each mission. This allows you to have a ton of flexibility in how you approach each mission. Also the fact that weapon types are interchangeable, and you can unlock the ability to use other types with each character adds even further to this flexibility. Here's the thing though, I will NEVER agree with releasing a stripped down version for ANY platform. This is the second time D3 has allowed this crap to happen. It's absolutely NOT OKAY to release a pc version without split screen functionality. As a consumer, I do not give a crap if there are contractual obligations. I also don't care if they took the most easily portable version to release on PC. You already have a small audience, and this exact same concern was mentioned literally hundreds of times on the original world brothers. Its probably the best blocky-game I've ever played. I wish the AI was a better though, like I wish they wouldn't hop on your vehicle with you. its surprisingly a lot more chaotic when you're swapping between 4 characters. The buildings...surprisingly take good punishment. Sometimes it'll leave holes in the buildings. I'd imagine thats what it'd feel like trying to take apart actual nano blocks too. Cons that I had... - The navigators talk too much, Yeah i know I can swap characters, you dont have to keep reminding me. - no vehicle summons. I can't call something like a NIX unless it's on a certain map. - sometimes you get stuck in mech vehicles. Pretty hard to wiggle out of. - You can't micromanage your team mates. You have 3 guys following you, but you can't leave them in 1 spot and leave. it has a recall button at least. Even though its blocky, its actually the best looking EDF Game I've seen...But only if you're flying. The explosions and junk might clutter your field of view. RECOMMEND ON BIG DISCOUNT Pro: 1. A lot of missions 2. Choosing team setups are fun (when you get a new unit) 3. I like the pixel/lego art style a lot 4. Spiders are finally not broken! in older edf games i have played they could shoot through everything it was the main reason i stopped getting edf games 5. Runs good on my Ally X Con: 1. The amount of units is misleading and you will just constantly get dups 2. There is basically nothing to collect after you get all the units which you will do before the story ends most likely (did for me) 3. It got boring getting nothing new and takes too many dups to get a new skill for a unit its just a grind fest for nothing really 4. As you can see there is major lack of content 5.
