East Defense

This may change, but right now the game seems broken. Hoping to hear from the developers. ADDENDUM: I have heard a little from the developers, who made it clear they didn't care to work on this unfinished mess anymore. I got thru the tutorials, finally, and the game has started. There is still a lot missing, and a lot that doesn't seem to work. For example I got the Sniper up to third level and bought his special power for 700, supposed to be a second arrow that targets the creature with the highest health. Doesn't work. The game plays very tediously, there are no tactical actions and if there was a plan for a strategic upgrade system I have to guess it was in the village which doesn't exist. Promises of coming soon, but that seems doubtful. There is a lot not quite right with this game, including how easily you can skew the map without meaning too, but it would take too long to write it all out for a four thumbs down review. I would say no even if free.

Its a good time killer

The game begins as a normal tower defense: build towers, stop monsters, protect the castle. But later levels force a different strategy—allowing monsters to damage the castle so you can build economy towers and hopefully heal later. This flips the core goal of the genre. Instead of defending, the optimal play becomes letting enemies through and gambling on recovery. The player spends much of the level feeling like they are losing, hoping upgrades arrive before the castle dies. What starts as an interesting mechanic becomes frustrating because success depends on taking damage rather than preventing it. The result is less tactical defense and more passive stalling. A tower defense game fails when the best strategy is not defending the tower.
