This may be the first Steam review I have ever given. This game is very good. I'm incredibly excited about what this will evolve into and it honestly caught me a bit off guard. Specifically how fun it is. Stayed up way too late doing just one more run of this game. Great job by the developer. I'm also working on a few games and I hope I can make something that is half as fun as this some day. Buy it!3 found this helpful
seems fun, current content isnt too long or that hard to beat, but its early access and what is here is lots of fun. Really hope to see some sort of endless mode in the final game as I'd love to see how far some of these builds could go.2 found this helpful
Highly unbalanced. Not enough gold gain, no permanent upgrades, and extremely slow progression.1 found this helpful
For an indie game that's still in Early Access, I've been so so impressed by how much content is already available and knowing how much more they have in store. The progression system is really rewarding, as each run gives you more upgrades that make you want to jump into another round to see how much further you can get! The amount of times I've said 'go on then, one more go' is astounding. I love how polished the gameplay feels and everything works as you would expect it to. Throughout my time playing I haven't encountered any bugs which is always a plus! It's very clear that the dev team are actively refining the experience of the game as a whole and even though it has such a solid foundation already, I can't wait to see where Echoes of Meda goes next. The music is soooo enjoyable as well - even though the soundtrack is compact, the music adds so much more to the atmosphere of the gameplay and elevates the playing experience to a whole new level. Also, the artwork - 10/10! Visually, the game is fantastic - the pixel art is packed with character and whimsy, making everything feel so vibrant and alive. There is a very strong sense of charm throughout the environments and I f…1 found this helpful
For a smaller, early access title this game is a ton of fun, and already at the time of me writing this offers plenty of challenge. The character advancement loop is satisfying enough to want to play another round after increasing the power of your abilities with the rewards of the previous round, and then keep doing that again and again. There were a few strong points about the game that I found worth mentioning; first of all, the mechanics work as advertised, and are smooth. I haven't yet found a single bug, and any potential balance issues are being taken care of as the early access goes on. With this foundation, I can't wait to see what the developers add to the game! Secondly, the music is beautiful. For now, there aren't that many different tracks, but I'm sure whatever the composer whips up in the future will be captivating! Also, the sound effects are really fun, and there haven't been any that I have come across that annoyed me, which can sometimes be the case with games for me. Thirdly, the artwork is amazing! It really brings the game and the world alive, and I can't wait to learn more about Meda, its citizens and its creatures. It reminds me of some of the games I u…1 found this helpful
