Echoes of the Past: The Citadels of Time Collector's Edition

[h1] DO NOT BUY [/h1] Can't recommend due to a massive bug at the very end. It results in a black screen and inability to finish the game. I am not the only one to have experienced this. Nice one, devs!

I encountered a bug at the very end of the game. I put the last clock number on the clock face, which was supposed to load into the last puzzle.However, there was nothing but a blank screen. Due to this bug I was unable to complete the game and as well unable to get a refund, because I was past the 2 hour mark. So I'm out $10. $10 won't break me, but it's the point that I paid money for a faulty product. It seems Orneon are incompetent game developers.

You were exploring a new Exhibition at the local museum, when a dark figure appeared, decrying you as her old nemesis, and casting you into a patchwork of different eras of the Kingdom of Orion. As you have only just met this witch, you are a bit confused, but a little more focused on fixing the issue so you can go home. Will you succeed? HO scenes are challenging, minigames fun, and the plot is… adequate. Would suggest getting in the bundle.

So overall I liked this game. The puzzles have a good flow back and forth between areas, and aside from a repeat puzzle having slightly different mechanics than before, it's easy to adapt and figure it out. There were only maybe 3 or 4 puzzles that were getting to me enough to skip them. I was having a great time, and then.... After you get the scientist's piece of the great big clock and put it in, you're apparently supposed to maybe have a cutscene with the witch and/or a puzzle to solve to finish the game. However, once you put the last great clock number in, the game just... does not continue. The music keeps going, you can still see the journal and the hint gargoyle and access the menu, but the game screen just goes black. I restarted the game, tried to load it again, went to the strategy guide to see what I was supposed to be seeing, and no luck. Went to the community hub from the store page and apparently this bug has been a problem since 2023, and the devs have been super silent on it. Which.... is a shame. I've opted not to get a refund because I was having lots of fun up until that bug, and at least it waited until the exact end to happen. I can see myself replaying it…

There was a bug - a black screen near the end. SOLVED BY QUITTING THE GAME (you can do this via Task Manager if needed) and loading again! Great game anyways!

It is a good game with smooth gameplay and nice graphics. Pros: + Music and sound effects. + It is both entertaining and well-made.
