Mystery Case Files: Rewind Collector's Edition

This one was fine, but definitely not as good as previous entries in the MCF series. It mostly focused on the HOPs and some puzzles. The puzzles were a bit too easy in my opinion, because you don't have to collect different pieces from different spots throughout the place, but rather everything is already right there. Previous games felt like you were in a real place because you could actually walk to the different locations, but this one felt like a random collection of places because there is just a menu where you go directly to each room.

Despite some of the reviews I read, I really enjoyed this game. It has a nice "blast from the past" style, taking the player back to the earlier stages of MCF games. It was nice to take a break from the newer style in between games. I definitely recommend this game

I like that the MCF universe attempted to go back to its roots like the first 4 games, however this one just lacked... everything. The character designs were boring, the Hidden Object scenes were extremely easy, the few puzzles present were no challenge at all, and the game just had no personality whatsoever. This game felt like it was made because they wanted to release something new, but had no real drive or motivation to make a decent and interesting story. With the character designs, i know going from real people to animated characters is a challenge, but these designs felt lazy, and i couldnt even recognise half of them until i was told who they were at the end of the chapter. Overall, i was severely disappointed in this game. I only finished it because im going through all the games in the series. It took me multiple sittings to complete because i got so bored after 10 minutes of playing

Mystery Case Files: Rewind Collector's Edition unfortunately didn't live up to expectations. It's a solid game and works perfectly in Windows 11, but it lacks fundamental game qualities like 'fun' and 'challenge', of which there were little of either. Most hidden objects were not hidden, just laid out right in front of you to click on. Puzzles and Super Puzzles were sadly boring and simple. I was really expecting a Mystery Case Files retro experience, but instead we got this disappointing game that really has no soul. It would have been better if this game was never published.

It's a very creative HOP-only game, meaning it solely consists of Hidden Object Puzzles, which is my preference. The story, while a bit repetitive, is creatively told. The bonus content is somewhat lackluster but acceptable. Overall, I enjoyed this game and recommend it. GAME CONTENT: 1) Use of explicit or offensive language?
