About Ecosphere - Prologue

In this visual novel, you play as Leily Stirner, the Pirate Princess! Mandated by a mysterious mission's sponsor, she must infiltrate a memorial to steal an orb capable of controlling nature: the Ecosphere!

But beware: each decision will impact the progress of your mission... Will you manage to steal the precious loot?

This free prologue (about twenty minutes of gameplay) will be the opportunity to lay the foundations of a much bigger universe!

An atypical universe

Enter a universe mixing Fantasy, Steampunk, and Pirates! A planet where magical powers meet technology. A world where humans are born with an Affinity: the mark that gives the ability to master one of the four natural elements!

Interactive Fiction

During the adventure, you will regularly have choices to decide the best way to enter the Memorial and influence the story. Two ends and several tactics to achieve them.

Point & click

Explore and interact with your environment using a drag-and-drop system: dragging items from your inventory and dropping them in-game to unlock contents.

Battle mode

Based on Quick Time Event, a battle mode is integrated for casting spells. Press the button before it's too late: if you click the attack button, you trigger the magic. If you miss it, the opponent attacks, and you suffer damage!

Turbomedia

It is a comic book designed for digital devices and exploits its technical possibilities, such as animations and interactions. An action sequence is available in this prologue.

In-game rewards

A gallery of 9 unlockable CGs.

Riocamy (Production director, writer, programmer) - Zelyphia (Character artist) - DSittaro (Background artist) - VFX and sound design are licensed from asset stores.

The game has so much potential. The characters and the background are beautifully made. The gameplay is so innovative for a visual novel. Definitely waiting for the release of the full game to see how this will end up !

Ecosphere - Prologue is not a game, it's not even an E-book... it's an advertisement for an E-book. Now you might be asking, "Why does a crap, badly written E-book need an advertisement?" or "Is an advertisement, which is not a game, for a book, which is also not a game, a game?" And the answer is, of course, that it is not. I firmly believe that advertisements for E-books aren't games, and you should not waste your time with them. I cannot recommend e-books on Steam to gamers, because books are not games. I cannot recommend advertisements on Steam to gamers, because advertisements are not games. It's a common mistake when unfamiliar with Steam to launch demos/advertisements as full games on Steam instead of tagging them correctly as demos. Here's the instructions for putting a demo up on Steam, to demonstrate that there is a correct process for this, which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made…

It deserves a pass because it delivers on what it promises and I didn’t encounter any bugs. Personally, I’m not a fan since it feels more like a "click-through-story" than a game, but that’s just my opinion. Others might enjoy it, so if you like this type of experience, it might be worth checking out—even though I personally won’t. Good luck!
