Ecstatic, developed and published by PUNKCAKE Delicieux, is a tightly focused arcade shooter that takes a familiar genre and injects it with an unusual mechanical twist. On the surface, it resembles a top-down bullet-hell experience, but it quickly establishes its own identity through a design that emphasizes control, rhythm, and calculated movement over pure reflex. Like many of the developer’s projects, it embraces a minimalist structure, delivering a compact yet high-intensity gameplay loop that thrives on repetition and mastery rather than scale. The most defining element of Ecstatic is its time manipulation mechanic. Movement and time are directly linked: when the player is in motion, the game runs at full speed, but the moment you stop, everything slows down. This creates a constant tension between mobility and precision. Staying still allows for careful aiming and planning, giving you a chance to navigate dense bullet patterns with greater control. However, lingering too long can leave you exposed, as enemies continue to close in and opportunities to reposition disappear. It's really good and fun to play! Even though I imported mp3 files in the tracks file the editor wont work. The game is still really good and I 100% recommend it!

This game stands alone. What a weird and fun idea.

Losing at the three minute point in a song to a single hit makes me want to self harm. Ecstatic (Masochistic) is like a hyperbolic chamber for experiencing anger at levels and speeds never seen before. Not only is it not very fun but the gameplay sucks too. You shoot and dodge for two minutes straight, then an enemy spawns right next to you, shoots a pellet with [b]NO ATTACK INDICATOR[/b], and all your progress is immediately gone. [h2]I rate it an 8/10 torture simulator[/h2]; all it needs is some ear rape and how about you randomly mirror the controls too?
