As you meet the required performance level in a mini-game, you unlock a verse of the poem. You must repeat this process multiple times, each with increasing difficulty, until you've heard all the verses and can advance to the next mini-game and chapter. Each mini-game features unique background music and corresponding visual scenes that accompany the verses. These games are thematically and narratively integrated, so they never feel disconnected from the story. For example, the first involves hitting notes on a guitar, followed by catching feathers with a bird while dodging hazards, and then guiding a horse by keeping a moving star centered, and so on. Gameplay-wise, the minigames center around pattern recognition and being able to maintain rhythm. For those buying this for a younger audience, parental discrestion is advised for the subject matter does dip into the racism prevalent in a majority of guachesque literature, but is mainly kept to a single verse.
