This is a game. It has chickens, puzzles, arcade type music, and a dark atmosphere. If you want to play as a chicken solving puzzles to arcade like music in a dark atmosphere, this could be the game for you.

I played this without trying any of the other Ells Tales games, so I may be missing critical context that would make this experience a little more... comprehensible. But! I'm a member of the [url=https://steamcommunity.com/groups/fixedcamera]Fixed Camera Appreciation Society[/url] and this was made with the fixed multicam approach, so I had to try it. What a [i]weird game[/i]. But I DO like weird, and I appreciate this sacrificial chicken in a crown and an explosive collar, chosen to reposition big eggs and find small glowing eggs, all the while enduring some catchy licenced chip tunes blasted out (diagetically) by a sexy be-limbed loudspeaker and peering into the dramatic and dynamically lit environments... You don't encounter many games like it. Egg movement can be triggered from what seem like unintended positions through stabbing the E key and rotating just-so. The main controls are character-relative - there seems to be no place in this coop for cam-relative inputs. The camera angles are mostly CCTV-style elevated positions for puzzles, though there are some 'brooding' voyeristic shots in the more obscure pathways. There's a great deal of charm here, although it's more of a neat art thing than it is an actually fun game. The aesthetics are wonderful. I adore the low poly art style and the use of fixed camera angles (even if they tend to cause some grief here - letting you run out of frame and such which is very frustrating). I couldn't really get very far in this, once the levels start getting a bit more complex the flaws start getting in the way quite a bit. There should probably be a more easily accessed restart level function since it's a little too easy to push something into a corner and not be able to progress without restarting. Although even more valuable would be restarting where the level activity actually starts, some levels have a good 20-30 seconds of travel just to get to where you actually need to do the puzzle (I do like the atmospheric journey to the puzzles though, it's actually more fun than the puzzles themselves which feel overly cumbersome even when simple, but not having to repeat those journeys each time you mess something up would do a lot for the games staying power).
