About Ember's Verge
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to find yourself in the wilderness with no tools or resources? In this PvE sandbox survival game, you'll need to rely on nature, bushcraft, and careful planning to endure. Every choice matters from maintaining your fire to managing food, water, and a roof top the head.
Stranded on a deserted island after being betrayed by an accomplice, with no one coming to rescue you, survival is entirely in your hands. Set up a safe shelter, craft tools, forage for food, and prepare for the changing seasons. Fire is your lifeline, and protecting it, along with yourself, is essential to make it through the harsh elements.
With no modern gear, you must craft everything from raw natural materials. Craft primitive axes, knives, bows, and clothing. Unlock faster and more efficient production as your skills grow. Use natural resources to shape everything you need.
Effective food management is crucial. Forage for wild vegetables, cultivate seeds for higher yields, and secure calories with traps and snares. With a bow you can hunt animals directly for a more reliable food source.
Resources are everywhere, but usable materials require the right tools. Cut logs, split timber, gather stones, and manage what you carry. Efficiency becomes vital as winter approaches.
Shelter isn’t about building elaborate bases, but about surviving the harsh elements. Find a safe place to rest, protect yourself from the wind, and reinforce your camp to survive storms and the coldest winter nights.

Dynamic weather directly affects your survival. Winter storms may force you indoors to stay warm, while floods and droughts create additional challenges that require careful planning and adaptation.
Decide whether to remain on the island or eventually leave it behind. Your adventure, your choice.

I played the Demo on the easiest difficulty and enjoyed it. No real threat other than meeting my needs and learning the game.
I survived until the Demo ended, which I think was about 3 or so days and wanted more!
So I picked up the full game and have been trying it on a little bit harder of a difficulty. If the Demo is still available, grab it and try it. If you like it then you'll like the full game. There is also tutorial of sorts available at the beginning (can be turned off) that guides you towards what we should start out trying to do and I found that helpful when I played the Demo. There is also in game guide (Codex) with information and resources to help explain things if needed. There's also tooltips when you hover over items that help explain what they are and do. There is a Spoiler Section in the codex, but I haven't looked in there. But I'd assume it has more specific info for those feeling lost. Took me a bit to feel like I knew what I was doing but the tutorial, tooltips, onscreen prompts and codex helped walk me through it. Felt fitting, like I needed to learn how to survive! Even as the player. Overall I find the way Ember's Verge is do…2 found this helpful
I really love this game!!!!1 found this helpful
I sincerely like this game. It is nice to have a survival game that doesn't involve zombies or immediately fighting for your life while trying to figure out game mechanics, how things work and where everything is. I enjoy the actual crafting, it's as it is as close to reality as you can get in a video game. It's not easy, but also not impossible. Perfect for someone who wants to just explore and ...hopefully...survive. Great price, too. FYI, trying to develop a guide to help out a little, hopefully it'll get posted.1 found this helpful
I am loving this game!!! It is so easy to customize the difficulty settings. When I just want to relax, I play on the easiest settings. I am just now stepping it up a little bit. Gradually working my way towards survival mode.1 found this helpful
Booted up my first world, gathered enough sticks for a campfire and as soon as I go to light it, it starts raining. Move to a rock overhang for dryland and then light my campfire. Go to make shelter. Its too big to fit in the overhang. fire runs out of fuel. freeze to death. Great game, treats me exactly the way I hoped it would.
If the game is meant to feel realistic, it shouldn’t be so hard to find a stick in the forest. I refunded it because the difficulty doesn’t match reality.
