The solo-developer Atari VCS cult-classic Metroidvania is coming to Steam for PC, Linux, and Mac! No early access - a finished and complete experience on day-one!
End's Reach is a 3D Exploration Action Adventure Game that focuses on a character lost in the depths of space. Players will solve puzzles, collect upgrades, items, weapons and even magical abilities as they uncover the mysteries of this strange new world. A classic tale of technology taken too far.
Control Scheme This game was designed originally for a controller but supports play with mouse, keyboard, trackpad and keyboard-only (keys for camera). The experiences may vary but ideally you should be able to play in any configuration you choose.

Accessible GameplayEnd's Reach is not a souls-like! It is designed for players of all skill-levels and the journey itself is the experience.
Upgrades & WeaponsHidden in every corner of End's Reach are items and upgrades. Weapons, suit upgrades, components. Increase your maximum health, sprint for long distances, become an armoured fortress. The more you explore, the more powerful you will become. Only the most experienced player will uncover all of the secrets End's Reach has to offer in it's darkest places.

[h1]End's Reach is the kind of clunky indie project that feels like it is held together by scotch tape.[/h1] When you enter a new area, sometimes you're facing the wrong way and immediately upon running forward end up going back the way you came. Short music loops, non-humanoid enemies making human groans when they get defeated, controls that feel like they don't work properly, a map that is slow and awkward to scroll around and look at, the list goes on. Despite this jank, it is a pretty serviceable metroidvania game and felt alright to play. If anything the issues felt minor enough that it added some raw charm to the thing. I dropped [b]End's Reach[/b] before finishing because toward the end of the game I wasn't finding the key items I was missing and I was pretty take it or leave it with the experience. It really wasn't that bad of a metroidvania game and for something so raw it managed to impress. It gets a recommendation from me, albeit a narrow one.4 found this helpful

It's a pretty fun game with tons of exploration with a cool mix of puzzles, light combat, and hidden upgrades that make it feel really rewarding to dig into. The world design encourages you to poke around and find secrets, and while the combat isn’t super deep (At my point of the story), it’s enjoyable and works well with the variety of weapons I know you can find. It’s not too difficult, so it’s easy to get into, and the overall vibe feels like a solid throwback to classic action-adventure platformer games.1 found this helpful
