Enthrean Radiance : Prologue

RPG Maker strikes again! Enthrean Radiance : Prologue is not a game. It's an advertisement/demo for a crappy RPG Maker asset flip. It's a common mistake when unfamiliar with Steam to launch demos/advertisements as full games on Steam instead of tagging them correctly as demos. Here's the instructions for putting a demo up on Steam, to demonstrate that there is a correct process for this, which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos The game this is an advertisement for is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel JRPG ripoffs spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club weeaboo fan fiction. Basically, these guys didn't make a game, they filled out a couple of templates in a construction kit. Also, like all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for…

This seems to be the unfinished progress of a game that never came out. The main game was supposed to come out in 2021 and there has been no update on its situation. One of the developers seems to have gone on to different things as well. This is the main reason I don't recommend this demo without a game. As for the gameplay I gave it a try because of the unique combat you don't see very often in RPG Maker games. The combat was alright but it definitely got repetitive, especially when enemies just respawn if you defeat a different enemy on the same screen. The main character interactions were probably the best part of the game, and you could tell actual attention went into them. The mini-game was alright. Ran into a visual bug where one of the main characters, Millia, was duplicated during a cutscene, but the game still functioned alright.

С другой стороны, геймплей ощущается немного устаревшим. Боевая система, хотя и с базовым набором приемов, не предлагает достаточной глубины и разнообразия. Исследование мира ограничено и линейно, не давая игроку возможности свободно перемещаться и искать секреты. В целом, 'Enthrean Radiance: Prologue' представляет собой неплохой пролог, демонстрирующий потенциал и атмосферу будущей игры. Однако, разработчикам стоит обратить внимание на улучшение геймплейных элементов, чтобы полноценная версия смогла оправдать ожидания. Игра рекомендуется к ознакомлению поклонникам JRPG и ностальгирующим по старым играм этого жанра.
