Escape Initiative

very challenging and long game!

Escape Initiative is a simplistic, minimalist 2D action platformer where you run along and jump on platforms and dodge obstacles and all that stuff. It's one of literally thousands of lazy 2D retro platformers infesting Steam. The phoned in graphics don't help this one, controls are okay but not perfect. It's unremarkable. While this is free, the quality isn't of the level that would really appeal to gamers. If you're looking for a good platformer, buy a console. Or play Hollow Knight or something.

I neither really liked nor disliked this game. The concept of escaping through different levels with their own obstacles and puzzles was interesting enough to keep me playing, and the minimalist visual style worked fine for the type of game it was trying to be. It's simple, easy to understand, and doesn't waste much time getting started. At the same time, I don't think there's anything particularly memorable about it. After a while, the gameplay starts feeling repetitive, and some puzzle solutions felt less intuitive than they probably should have. The platforming controls are decent enough, but nothing that stood out to me either. Overall, it's a perfectly okay game to spend some time with if you're bored, but it's not something I'd go out of my way to recommend. Not bad, not great, just a fairly average experience.

Также, сложность некоторых головоломок кажется неоправданно высокой, иногда требуя скорее угадывания, чем логического мышления. В целом, 'Escape Initiative' – это неплохой time-killer, способный увлечь на несколько часов. Любителям головоломок игра может прийтись по вкусу, но стоит быть готовым к некоторой монотонности и моментам, когда решение кажется неочевидным. Рекомендую поиграть, если вас привлекает идея побега из постоянно меняющейся тюрьмы, но не стоит ожидать чего-то революционного.
