About Eye of Saccharine
A girl suffering from hallucinations tries her best to live a normal life in the megapolis. She sees an advertisement for a certain doctor presenting a revolutionary technology for diagnosing and treating the psyche, "G.L.A.Z.A".
The heroine hesitates a little and decides to take a chance to dig into her problems and get rid of the need to drink pills. Advertising turns out to be truthful, but first she needs to go through a thorough analysis. And she herself has to dive into the wicked mind and understand the cause of all the problems.
Darkness, monsters, ghosts of the past and a cheerful girl-guide will help the main character along the way, but only to an extent, so that he understands the depth of her own despair.

I received a free copy of this game for my curator, Games for Hopeless Romantics. The description of Eye of Saccharine lists "minutes of confusing plot" as one of its features. And, well, it's right. I got the gist of what was going on but it's definitely not at all straightforward. I can enjoy surreal elements in stories, but unfortunately the English translation is so stilted that it makes it hard to tell what's intentionally vague/misleading and what just got lost in translation. The summary also says that you play as a girl, but at no point in the EN version is that ever referenced and there are a couple places where the MC is referred to as a guy? Really weird. This isn't really a romance game, there's something kind of resembling a romantic subplot, sort of, but
it always ends badly, because you're stuck in a simulation of a time loop, I think
. I'd classify Eye of Saccharine as primarily surreal horror. The sprite art is alright, I like the style. The game is really short (it took me a bit more than 15 minutes to get all the achievements), and combined with how confusing the translation …2 found this helpful

As other reviews say, translation needs some work as well as there being a bunch of intentional complicated metaphors that could be done way better. However It's still done in an interesting way that I found made it worth going through everything, while each option on it's own might not be the most interesting, the way that it's spun together makes for something that's more than the sum of it's parts and was enjoyable to explore. For the price, I think that's more than enough.
pretty much an abstract and eerie game experience it won't take that long for you to finish, since mine only took a couple minutes to discover all the endings of the game. the random "baka" did took me out by surprise though. yes, the plot is just as confusing just like what the description says. my best guess is that you as the protagonist is stuck in a loop over and over again, one that you don't have the control of ever since you're willing to try whatever G.L.A.Z.A is perhaps the story needs to be longer for me to actually understand what's going on, but overall it's alright for the game price itself. wish to see more of the story >3>
Good game, although its English translation is kinda confusing, the gameplay and visual novel regarding mental problems made this game an interesting experience
