Smart, original, and above all terrifying, F.I.D.O. is the rare modern horror game that works on multiple levels -- and leaves a lingering sting. 10/104 found this helpful
"F.I.D.O." seems to be some kind of tech demo or a student project, or something. It's a short, rather low quality adventure games with a slew of gimmicks and different interactions. What do you do in the game? The game has a vague dog theme as you try to survive a demonic dog, so you move around 3D environments from a top down view and do various adventure game type stuff. The graphics aren't great... that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any…1 found this helpful
i'm sad I cannot give this game a recommendation. It's a free game and a lot of work goes into developing something like this but there are just too many probelms to just ignore or disregard them. - the game is optimised really badly it is constantly lagging - you have to go REALLY REALLY close to things before you can interact with them, there is no indication what objects can be interacted with. i wandered thorugh the basement for AGES before i found the diary thing and knew what i was supposed to do - the dog catches you really quickly, often even when you are outside his vision (i was behind the car in the garage and the dog hadn't even entered the room but i was "found" - the door to the basement (where you are supposed to go) is bugged and i only go through by wiggling my mouse for 3 minutes - i often got stuck near walls or other objects for some reason and had to look for the sweet spot before i was allowed to move again - in the third "level" i didn't understand a thing and was completely clueless as to what to do??? you can interact with things but then the dog immediately finds you?? the 19 minutes I spend with this game were ocmepletely wasted. don't do it to yourself1 found this helpful
easily the most stressful 20 minutes of my life
Before I played F.I.D.O., I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
