Very inexpensive deck building game, collectible card game elements without the cost involved. The card mechanics are simple but there are a lot of cards and a lot of ways to build your decks (and you can set up and save multiples). I like that there's an 8 turn limit, it does make turtling setups worse but it also means you have a lot more resource management to work around. The story is fun, the Touhou fairies are really fun characters and the artwork for them is really cute. I'm really fond of Lily's design, she's one of my favorite of the group anyway. Music and sound effects are well done. There are a few problems and some lack of QoL that might be addressed in future updates. The last two story matches faced me off against [spoiler]Clownpiece[/spoiler] which had an effect that a meteor would drop. The problem is that in the current as of this review 1.30 version of the game, when that effect goes off the game freezes and all you can do is forfeit. To finish the story, I had to put together a build that could direct damage the boss down prior to turn 6 or else it could not be beaten. You know. It is very fun for 5 hours which is a pretty fine deal if you think of it as $1 per hour. So, a few points in no particular order. There is no PvP, you fight bots and there is a basic leaderboard that tracks wins. It's not very elaborate so if you were hoping for competition, which is fair, its the main draw of card games. Unfortunately this isn't that type of game. The real charm of this game is building your deck alongside the campaign. You start with a starter deck, and as you progress you get money, money that you can use to craft cards. I'd almost call it a deck building rpg, but Yu-Gi-Oh the Sacred Cards this is not. Gameplay loop is heavily inspired by mobile game models. You click a battle from a list of missions do that battle. You get some character dialogue, rewards, and then it boots you back to that mission list. As much as I'd like a world to explore and npcs to fight and talk to. It doesn't make what's here bad. $5 indie game, this is perfectly serviceable. So how's the game itself? Well it's pretty simple, you have 10 life and 2 resources you have to balance. 3 hours to beat the true final boss... after the RNG to unlock it. Fun deck building game with Touhou's fairies and a lot of Alice's dolls for some reason. It's a major improvement over the previous game [i]Fairy Card Rogue[/i]. The fun part's figuring out a good deck to use to squash your opponent with, because the game is not balanced at all. Using multiple [spoiler]Remilia[/spoiler] cards in particular is almost cheating; her healing ability triggers [i]before[/i] the enemy's attack and raises both her and your [i]Max[/i] HP, so the effect snowballs as turns go on, and then you can use Eirin's cards to give omega heals to yourself, and before you know it suddenly you have 3x the HP you started the fight with and it's impossible for the enemy to win. Online play is simply against others' decks, not actual players afaik. The music goes surprisingly hard, too. Only big issue is that the Clownpiece fight is bugged; not only does the instakill softlock the game if everyone dies from it, even if you use the trick I described above to survive it by having high enough HP, it still softlocks. This still hasn't been fixed.

Get your card gaming fix without rolling any gacha! Great music too. My only complaint is that I would prefer to be able to play with just my keyboard.
