This game is incredible, easily among the best SRPGs I've played and particularly notable for having by far the best boss fights of any I've played thanks in large part to how it adapts the wild bullet hell patterns of Touhou into arrangements of field effects. The story is overall pretty good, I am (or was) unfamiliar with much of touhou prior to playing this, and it makes for an excellent introduction to the series and setting of Gensokyo and its delightful array of characters. Of which there are a ton, over 70 playable characters and you would be hard pressed to say any of them are neglected in the writing, which presents an enormous amount of dialogue both in and out of fights, and a great deal of which comes in contextual exchanges between characters and whoever is the stage boss of the day. Shockingly the game also manages to make every single one of the character stand out in gameplay as well, while some are certainly stronger than others and some may fill similar niches to other characters every single one of them is distinct in ways that makes it really interesting learning how to play with your squad. This game is excellent for anyone with even a passing interest in Touhou. No other Touhou fangame that I've played has such an excellent combination of music, story, gameplay, and animations. Every aspect of this game has clear dedication put into it and works well together. The game has a massive amount of content: music, dialogue, gameplay, and great replayability with its large cast of playable characters, distinctly different difficulties, and even a NG+ with unique story elements. The game also has many small details that add to its charm, such as comments on the making of each song and special names for many of the pairs in the game once you unlock the pair mechanic in Arc 3. I would strongly recommend this game for Touhou beginners and veterans alike.2 found this helpful
