The girls of Gensokyo weave together a dungeon RPG with an estimated playtime of 30~50 hours.
Pick a frontline of 4 and a rear of 8 to form a party of 12 characters out of a pool over 40+ and conquer extensive dungeons!
Among the enemies wandering dungeons, you'll find especially troublesome (and tasty!) Rare Enemies that give much more EXP,
Giant Enemies that are several times as stronger than regular ones and tens of times more rewarding,
and Special Enemies that possess various unique aspects to their fights and hold special item drops!
Raise and lower the spawn rate of various enemies, waiting in ambush for some and running from others as you explore vast dungeons!
Find the perfect hunting ground for your party and go farming for a while!
Use various means to devise certain, consistent strategies for powerful foes and grind, grind, grind to grow stronger!

Edit for Steam Deck mention: I played this game probably 75/25 between Steam Deck/PC. Steam Deck sometimes crashes on boot but once you are in it works well until specific instances. Attacks with huge effects will crash the game sometimes, and I encountered one specific dungeon floor that the game just wouldn't load. I believe I encountered 4 instances where the game would always crash on Steam Deck: 3 due to specific attacks from enemies and once because of that dungeon floor. If you only have a Steam Deck I'd wait for fixes, but if you can play PC as well you can get around it. I experienced zero issues when playing on PC. Normal review: Genuinely some of the best turn based combat you can find. You bring 12 characters into each dungeon run, where 4 are in front and 8 are in reserves. Allies and enemies have an active time gauge that fills based on their speed. You have a "formation" command, which lets any character on their turn swap any other character out from reserves to the frontline, or to simply move the frontline around. This means you can for instance do an attack with a very high delay, then with a different character immediately afterward swap the delayed character …1 found this helpful
If you liked 2, you'll probably like this one too. If you're someone looking for a turn based (action bar based?) RPG with a focus on teambuilding and strategy, you'll like this game. Some of the teambuilding aspects have been watered down from LOT2 but the new content they add (skill trees that can give a character multiple playstyles, and equipment upgrading) makes up for it.1 found this helpful
This game has some of the most addictive gameplay I have experienced in a while. There have been few games I have found as difficult to put down as this one. The challenge in both bosses and dungeon exploration, variety in both party composition and builds for individual characters, fast-paced gameplay, and high quality of life all combine for an excellent experience. Some criticism I do have of the game is that it appears to be poorly optimized, draining battery quickly and buffering at times. The text in the game's UI also glitches out sometimes, though this never happened with dialogue. The AI upscaling is also off-putting, though I have heard that most of the upscaled assets have been replaced. Overall, this is a game well worth your time, if the above criticisms are not deal breakers.
I suck ass at it but I llike it. The demo does need updating though, the performance-improving changes in the paid game are not in the demo, so people trying it will be getting a far worse view of the game than reality.
This game looks and feels so good i wish i could actually play it. Consistently seeing a black screen when entering the 1st floor after recruiting Meiling (about an hour into gameplay) basically makes this game unplayable. Configured GPU settings to no avail. Already refunded but if this is a known problem with a known solution then I would happily try this game again.
First ever review, but should do more for games that i really enjoy, and feel like other people would also really like. Beat the game, and just taking a break and waiting for the post game later on I have seen quiet a few complaints about the difficulty, i played on hardest difficulty and yeah moving to a new zone was hard at the beginning and the boss was even harder, but i played it because i wanted it that way, if you like grinding then definitely play on lunatic and go at it vs the bosses, if you don't like grinding or hard bosses then no point in harder difficulties, I'm not going to put the game on Lunatic and complain about difficulty. No bugs from me in all my hours played on the pc. Now some points about what i really liked and feel other people will enjoy: -Touhou- Have not played many Touhou games or consumed the media, but really liked it -40+ characters- With a lot of different play styles so you will definitely have options of who you want to use in your party. -Played on hardest difficulty and felt like the grind/move forward with story was kind of perfect and i enjoyed it, if you don't like much grinding then i recommend going a lower difficulty. -Playstyle- So …
