About Farmer Fowl's Farmhouse

Step inside the abandoned Farmer Fowl's Farmhouse — once a cheerful children's attraction, now left to rot since it's sudden closure decades prior. You play as Eli, a salvage assessor sent to document and mark the building's remaining assets before demolition. You must mark items for salvage, take photos of rooms, and collect leftover documents. However something evil still lurks within the building, can you complete your job and get out of the building? Or become a part of its tragic history.

Such a good game! Getting chased by Farmer Fowl is truly terrifying! I also really appreciated voice acting. I am used to hearing a lot of AI, so hearing an actual human was awesome! Adding subtitles would be pretty cool but other than that I wouldnt change a thing!

I would say overall this game was ok and I did like that it has voice acting. Level design wise it is a bit barren at Farmer Fowl's Farmhouse and it is very basic. Farmer Fowl himself was nicely designed and besides the level design the only other thing that I thought was a con was that you have to press the corresponding key once to pull out the camera for example then press it again to put it away before you are able to take out the flashlight. Fuses can also be very easy to miss since they are randomized every plathrough and I walked by one multiple times since I didn't know it could also be in the wooden box in the lobby lol. Overall an ok game it is very basic like I mentioned before and I felt like it lacked a bit of atmosphere of an abandoned children's attraction. Maybe that tv segment on the trailer could of been put in the ending to add flavor to the game so to speak? https://youtu.be/8uPl85RYras

I'd like to preface this review by stating I am a Play Tester & Voice Actor for this game and got a free key so there may be some inherent bias but I will try to be objective and give the criticisms I had in this review. You start the game in your apartment and need to get ready for work by grabbing your equipment. The FOV in this section is a bit tight feeling but it does set you up for how it'll be in the main section of the game and there it feels relatively fine. Once you get to the Farmhouse you get a few objectives explained to you by your friend on the phone while getting some backstory to the place and characters in this world which I appreciate. There IS lore in this game that is quite hidden but it's not completely needed to start piecing things together and just get a general idea of who you are and what you're doing. Once things start kicking off against the titular Farmer Fowl things will get scary fast. To keep things scary for anyone considering to get the game I'll put a spoiler tag for the rest of the review until my final score. [spoiler] I really like the sound design that's been done with Fowl (maybe a bit of bias there), it is genuinely concerning whenever …

Pretty decent game overall, especially for the price tag. Farmer Fowl's design is quite unnerving (mainly because of the eyes), and the sounds he makes are disturbing and will catch you off guard. I really like how you can use his hearing to your advantage by luring him to places you want him to be in via running. The only issues I have with the game are the voice acting, optimization, and set dressing. When your main helper character speaks, it sounds like some of the things he says were come up with on the spot or not rehearsed, like when he says the name "James" for example. I don't know if it was a matter of how the script was read or if there was no script, but I do hope in future games made by the developer, the voice acting sounds a bit more natural. The game's performance is also pretty inconsistent - in the opening levels and when the main facility goes pitch black, I can easily get over 100 fps at 1440p Ultra settings. However, when I'm in the main facility with all the lights on, I get sub-60 fps at 1440p Ultra. Lastly, I do wish the set dressing of the facility matched the vibes this game is going for. As someone who grew up in the American South, it feels weird having …

A great experience. Great story, great dialog, great atmosphere, but the gameplay is a bit frustrating, and the ending is lame.
