Shishimai Rinka was a high schooler who ran a small café named Lion House in place of her grandmother. She lived her life much like any other person her age, but one day, she was caught up in an explosion while returning home on the train alongside her friend, Hitsuji Naomi. In an attempt to save her friend's life, she shields her on instinct the moment the explosion goes off, losing her life in the process. However, before she knew it, she was back at Lion House, happily chatting with her friends as if nothing had happened in the first place.
"Good evening, my lovely little slaves to fate."
A few days later, she found herself in a strange world. Here she met Parca, an odd girl claiming to be a goddess. It turns out that she had somehow become a participant in Divine Selection, a ritual carried out over twelve weeks by twelve people, which allowed them to compete in order to undo their deaths. Yet, what shocked Rinka most of all, was the presence of her friend Mishima Miharu amongst the twelve.
In order to get through Divine Selection, one must eliminate others by gathering information regarding their name, cause of death and regret in the real world, then "electing" them.
This turn of events would lead to her learning about the truth behind her death, as well as her own personal regrets. She would also come to face the reality that Miharu was willing to throw her life away for her sake, as well as the extents to which the other participants would go to for the sake of living through to the end.
Far more experiences than she ever could have imagined awaited her now, but where will her resolve lead her once all is said and done...?

Artstyle and voices are great. I find the whole concept/idea of the story very interesting and it has a lot potential. However, I feel like they kinda messed it up a bit of how the rules work and how people would act in such a situation. Still, it was a good read, and I found myself cheering for the romance until the end. But I have to stress that this is the type of game where meaningful choices would have been nice to have, because the main character basically does nothing for the majority of the game, and somehow gets trhough everything with luck and kindness, it's a bit silly.1 found this helpful
I ended up deciding to drop this game midway. I'm really not fond of the writing and overall tone of this game.1 found this helpful
Fatal Twelve is a visual novel that takes a familiar concept—a battle among individuals fighting for a second chance at life—and transforms it into a deeply emotional and thought-provoking experience. Developed by LYCORIS and published by Sekai Project, the game combines supernatural mystery, character-driven drama, and psychological tension into a narrative that remains engaging from beginning to end. Rather than relying solely on shocking twists or constant danger, it builds its strength through meaningful relationships, personal regrets, and difficult choices that challenge both the characters and the player. The story centers on Rinka Shishimai, an ordinary high school student who helps manage her family’s café and enjoys a peaceful life with her friends. That normal existence is shattered when she becomes involved in a deadly explosion and loses her life while trying to save someone important to her. Instead of passing on, she awakens in a strange new reality and discovers that she has become one of twelve participants in a supernatural contest known as the Divine Selection. Every contestant has already died, yet each is given an opportunity to reclaim their existence. To sur…1 found this helpful
An impactful story. The suspense get so heavy sometimes I can feel my blood pressure raising. At some points I was dying to know what happen next I flew through the texts, leaving no time for the voiced dialouges. (My sincerest apologies to the voice actors!)
this is pretty cool, wish there was slightly less pedophilia (or not stated love for some children, but acts showing being attracted to minors)
I got this from the yuri Humble Bundle thingy and just went in with no expectations, to my surprise it ended up being the VN I was most invested in despite not really even being a yuri VN and moreso a mystery/death game VN above all. The premise is really interesting and I found myself getting super invested in all the characters, who had whose cards, what might happen next, ect. I do wish some characters got more time to shine, and I *really* wish the main couple had more romantic moments, but overall I enjoyed it a lot and the ending put a smile on my face!
