Good game
One of my favorite FF games.
Final Fantasy VI is a game I had been meaning to revisit for years, and I’m very glad I finally did. What surprised me most is how much this 1994 game still feels alive. Despite its age, it does not feel small. It creates a world filled with memorable characters, locations, music, and moments that are easy to connect with. The soundtrack is one of the biggest reasons the game remains so memorable, giving each character and place its own identity and emotion. The game quickly establishes its conflict: the Returners resisting against the Empire, Terra discovering her connection to the Espers, and the growing threat of an Empire built on conquest and destruction. The first half has a great sense of momentum as this group of very different people comes together against a common enemy. The highlight for me was Kefka, one of the most memorable villains in video game history (IMO). He is a maniacal, theatrical, completely unpredictable force who steals every scene he appears in. His iconic laugh, twisted humor, and cruel worldview make him impossible to ignore. Unlike many villains, Kefka does not simply threaten the world, he actually changes it. The heroes fail, the world is broken, a…
Absolutely back asswards that none of the extra content like bonus dungeons was added to this and square enix is so out of touch with what their customers want in the west we'll probably never get it.
6/10 This is my first time playing FF6, and I was very curious, as lots of people say this is the best of the series. Well, I can definetaly see where they're coming, and the game was probably the best JRPG in 1994, but now it's 2026, and a lot has happened since then. Pros: - The world map. It's an actual open world game (especially the second half of the game), with quite some cities/locations to explore. The map itself is not too big, but it has everything it needs. - Graphics. It's the best you can get from a pixel graphics, and I loved the animations, too. - Music. Awesome, as always with FF games. - QoL improvements. You can quick save anywhere, and there are some buffs you can turn on/off (random encounters, XP/Gil/AP multipliers) - The game and the characters are pretty charming. Meh: - The story. It's okay, has its moments, but nothing extraordinary. - The characters. There are quite some characters, but their background is very simple. Also, there are some pretty strange characters, but it's kinda a signature of the series. - Magic. In this game, EVERYONE can use ALL magic. Some characters have weaker base magic stat, but you can pimp them, and essentiall…
Conflict, Love and the struggle to persevere. one of the greatest, simply a narrative masterpiece, well explained and fleshed out characters. being able to once again go through this game in a more thorough way was such a fun time again and its easy to see why this particular FF is rated and hailed the way it is.
