I'm always picking up these anti-gravity games hoping for a really physical sensation. Instead you get this feeling like the ship is grounded and the "anti-gravity" is all in the animation and model design. This game is particularly on rails. The OG Wipeout is still the best version of this I've seen (if it weren't for the completely unrealistic and frustrating collisions which bring you to an instant stop). Flashout is just shiny graphics on top of another basic fighter racing game that doesn't embrace the "anti-gravity" mechanic.15 found this helpful
FLASHOUT 3, developed by Jujubee S.A. and published by Salient Games, is a high-speed anti-gravity racer that leans unapologetically into arcade intensity. It draws clear inspiration from the golden era of futuristic racing games, where blistering velocity, tight track design, and weapon-based chaos define the experience. From the moment you launch into your first race, the game makes its priorities obvious—this is about speed above all else, with just enough structure and variety to keep that speed engaging over time. The driving mechanics revolve around maintaining control at extreme velocities. Tracks are designed with sharp turns, vertical loops, and sudden elevation changes that constantly test your ability to react and adapt. Simply accelerating isn’t enough; players need to master braking, cornering, and boost management to stay competitive. The sensation of speed is one of the game’s strongest elements, often pushing you to the edge of control where even a minor mistake can cost you valuable positions. This creates a satisfying tension between risk and precision, especially on more complex tracks where memorization and timing become crucial. Combat adds another layer to t…2 found this helpful
After a few hours good times; good value for the price!1 found this helpful
This is a rough one but siding with a positive review due to it still keeping my interest through the campaign. I have been playing anti-gravity racing games since Wipeout Pulse. And like many anti-gravity racing games, this one also suffers from narrow tight tracks that feel awful at higher speeds. I swear developers do not test their tracks at max speed. Numerous times my ship got stuck in areas on the track, sticky walls, or shot over walls. The later races in the campaign I couldn't tell what was happening on screen with all the weapon explosions and sharp turns. I only passed through muscle memory. The other problem is that there is no restart race option. Forcing you to go back to main menu to redo the race. This could be due to them not wanting you to undo any tournament progress, but they still let you continue the tournament where you left off and by doing so also allow you to change your ship and weapon load outs to better fit the type of race you are starting. Overall it only took me about 4 hours to complete the campaign. A bit rough around the edges but still good for a few hours of enjoyment.1 found this helpful
