"If you're reading this, chances are things aren't looking too hot. But that's alright - take a deep breath and focus. Today is special, as they like to remind us.
It's a simple game they got us playin’ and you're gonna do just fine.
Ya pull the lever, ya see a number. Guess if the next number is higher or lower and, if you’re right, ya get some points and ya get to keep right on playin’.
If you’re wrong, well… let's not worry about that... You’re gonna do just fine.
Now, I know what you're thinking. That sounds too simple. And maybe it is. But when the timer starts ticking and the Sunken start grinding their teeth out in the fields and you can hear them clackin and crackin as they inch closer and closer, well, maybe simple’s ok. Maybe you just want a game to play before they send you back down and simple's just fine for that.
I heard one of us escaped years ago but who knows if that's true, could be somethin they tell us just to give us hope. Anyway, it's my turn. Wish me luck."

A simple game of over or under taken to the darkest extreme. Strapped to a machine with a plethora of gadgets, the footsteps of a nightmarish terror approach from behind. Your only hope is to save enough points to pay for your escape before the inevitable.
Flathead is designed as a highly replayable, single-sitting game dripping with tension and atmosphere. A simple idea of over or under becomes a strategic gamble with your life as a variety of tools and the strategies they introduce give a unique depth to an innocent concept. Increase your odds, accumulate point multipliers, gain unique modifiers, and more. But no matter how well you’re doing, maybe don’t look over your shoulder…

did not enjoy. all style, no substance. no obvious story, although maybe there would have been one if i stuck with it. the gameplay is pure chance. good gambling games are about making decisions and this game genuinely has no decisions in it (apart from the multiplier / point banking system i guess). every situation you're put in has an obvious correct move, to the point that i don't even understand why the over/under system is in the game. if the number is 1-10, you click over and pray. if it's 11-20, you click under and pray. if it's 9-12, you click make your own luck and pray. this game's entire experience, start to finish, is waiting for the rng to give you the right numbers, while it bombards you with cool but meaningless horror visuals. emphasis on WAITING because some animations are way too long for no reason and prevent you from doing anything else. lots of style going absolutely nowhere and doing nothing at all.
The story is a bit too cryptic for my tastes, and the root of the game is a simple over under gambling game with a gremlin trying to climb onto your shoulder, and steal your gambling machine.

Great gambling game, ngl. The feeling and how you do things is oddly satisfying, but I must say the game is not scary at all, more frustrating when you bet it all away, just like when i bet it all on red. Still a decent game, I had my fun with it. 6/10
Scary logic puzzle game - pretty cool design visually and the audio was implemented super well!
