Super Meat Boy for the Criterion collector

Eversion is a compact 2D platformer that uses familiarity as a deliberate form of misdirection. At first, it appears to be a cheerful retro adventure filled with colorful scenery, simple enemies, collectible gems, and an uncomplicated rescue mission. The player controls Zee Tee, a small flower-like hero traveling through the Flower Kingdom to save its princess. That premise sounds almost aggressively traditional, but the game gradually dismantles the comfortable atmosphere it establishes during its opening stages. Developed and published by Zaratustra Productions, it is best approached without expecting an ordinary cute platformer. The central mechanic is eversion, an ability that allows the player to shift between different versions of the surrounding world at particular locations. This is much more than an aesthetic transformation. Terrain, obstacles, enemies, platforms, and environmental behavior can change depending on the current state of reality. Something blocking Zee Tee's path in one version of a stage might become passable in another, while an apparently inaccessible location can suddenly become reachable after finding the appropriate place to shift dimensions. Pretty fun short game!

GAME FOR GIRLS ONLY NO GUYS ONLY GIRLS AHAHAHAA

Despite now being 16 years old, I'd say this game is worth the 5 or so dollars you pay for it. It's a small package, but definitely a nice little puzzle game with some difficulty in the later worlds. (the puzzle element only really comes into play when you're trying to collect all 240 gems) It's charming and cute yet delightfully spooky. If you're into both puzzle games and horror, I'd say this game is a must-play!
