About Fluxed

In Fluxed you play a man who has invented a Time Watch, who travels back in time to stop terrorists from detonating a bomb in a building in New York City, which started World War 3 and thus destroyed most of humanity. You travel back to floor 27 of the building, 2 minutes before the bomb is set to explode. Your Time Watch has 3 more uses, meaning you get 4 loops of the same 2 minutes in which to find the 3 terrorists, find the code, and diffuse the bomb. There are two modes, one with paradoxes enabled, and one with paradoxes disabled. It's not complete until you have finished the game in every loop, and in both modes; but it gets harder to avoid your past selves seeing you and causing a paradox the more past selves you have walking around! Play in VR, or PC, and try for the high scores!

✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the game's core concept but criticize its poor execution and lack of engaging content, noting that despite the low $2.99 price point, the gameplay feels repetitive and underdeveloped with minimal interaction beyond running between floors and occasional enemy encounters. The generic presentation and lack of polish make it feel like an incomplete experience that fails to meet basic expectations for a VR game, even at its budget price.

Sometimes I wonder if the devs even think about the average VR gamer and what their minimum expectations would before buying a game. I know $2.99 USD isn't asking a lot, but you have to do more than this to give your game value. I played this game and I wish I had paid closer attention to the store page video before accepting the game as part of the Steam Curator Connect. Yes, you have two lasers shooting out of your hands. Yes, there is a lot of running around from floor to floor without nothing going on. One of the generic character models will just randomly start shooting at you and that is how you will know it is a terrorist. You shoot. You keep searching. You have limited time (2 minutes). Most of the time nothing is happening. The only cool part of the game is the instances you create of yourself. So you can see your past self (current / alternate timeline) running around. The paradox problem is off by default, although you can turn it on in the settings. Unfortunately, the rest of the game is a snoozefest. Doors open by themselves when you get close …
