Decent platformer with nice visuals and smooth controls. Similar to Ori and the Blind Forest, visuals look organic and very much alive. Abstract scenery set on a different planet. Smooth gameplay and abilities like gliding or swapping between two dimensions. Level design is great! Air thrust shafts are useful and allow for some interesting exploration. Changing sides when walking along the rope and double jump. Collect seeds along the way and morph into more complex creature during journey. Story have awesome presentation and feels natural and smooth. Also excellent soundtrack and nice sound effects. No support for ultrawide screen resolution is the biggest con here. Nonetheless great recommendation for platformer fans!
Higher frame rate fix (game is set to 42 FPS by default): 1. Open Flyn.exe with hex editor 2. Go to offset 0005A852 and change number 17 to 16 in this line 3. Save9 found this helpful
Fly'N is a genuinely lovely indie platformer that surprised me with how much depth it hides behind its cute exterior — the four Buds each bring distinct abilities like wall-clinging, bouncing, and air-dashing that keep the gameplay feeling fresh as you progress through the beautifully illustrated worlds. The soundtrack is phenomenal and the art style is some of the best you'll find in the genre, making every level a pleasure to look at even when the difficulty starts ramping up. That said, be warned: what looks like a breezy platformer gets legitimately challenging, especially in the timed chase sequences, so patience and a controller are both highly recommended. The checkpoint system is forgiving enough that frustration rarely crosses into unfairness, and hunting down the hidden seeds and collectibles adds a satisfying layer of exploration to the linear progression. If you enjoy games like Rayman Origins or Super Meat Boy and can appreciate a gem that flew under the radar, this is absolutely worth picking up.1 found this helpful
Fly'N, developed and published by Ankama Games, is a vibrant 2D platformer that blends precise movement mechanics, environmental puzzles, and character-based ability design into a cohesive and charming adventure. Released on Steam in 2012, the game reflects Ankama’s signature artistic style and world-building sensibilities, presenting a colorful yet thematically urgent tale about the preservation of a living world under threat. While at its core Fly’N adheres to familiar platforming foundations, its layered mechanics and carefully structured level design elevate it beyond a simple genre homage. The narrative premise centers on the mystical land of Helicia, sustained by powerful World-Trees that maintain balance and life energy. When a strange, industrial invader named Dyer begins draining this life force, the World-Trees create four small guardians known as the Buds to stop him. The story unfolds lightly through environmental cues and occasional narrative beats rather than heavy exposition, allowing gameplay to remain the primary focus. Despite its whimsical tone and cartoon-inspired aesthetic, the underlying theme of ecological preservation gives the adventure subtle emotional we…1 found this helpful
