About FlyHigh
HOW FAST CAN YOU REACH THE BOSS?
You don’t walk — you “swing.”In this action-adventure, you move through a world of floating islands using a crossbow with a grappling hook. Your goal: reach the top and defeat the boss as fast as possible. How you get there is completely up to you.
Core Gameplay
Grappling Instead of Walking:Your most important mechanic is the grappling hook. Use it to pull yourself through the air, from island to island, always higher. Precision, timing, and good movement decide between victory and a long fall.Fight & Survive:
Many enemies with different attack patterns stand in your way. You must decide: fight them or swing past them? Some fights are worth it — others will cost you precious time.High Risk, High Reward:
Some of the strongest upgrades are found in extremely dangerous places. One wrong jump — and you fall all the way back down.
Progression & Upgrades
Loot & Items:You can find upgrades:
- freely in the world (plants, items),
- in caves,
- in secret areas,
- in loot drops,
- or in chests with different rarities: Normal, Silver, Gold, and Crystal.
Not every chest is safe — some of them explode when you open them.Special Crossbows:
There are several special crossbows with unique effects, for example:
- one that improves your stats with every kill,
- one that shoots bombs and deals area damage,
- and one with a chargeable ability that launches you explosively into the air.
Stat System
Alongside classic stats like:- Health
- Stamina
- Damage
- Speed
How far your grappling hook can reach — one of the most important stats in the entire game.Lives:
Extra lives let you continue after death.
Exploration & Puzzles
Secret Caves:Many caves are locked. To open them, you must find hidden buttons in the environment — sometimes obvious, sometimes almost impossible to spot.Interactive Islands:
Some islands can be picked up and moved — but not infinitely, or you would break the entire game.
Goal & Replayability
Speedrun-Focused:After every run, your time is saved. Try to beat your own record!Play Your Way:
- Rush straight to the boss.
- Explore every cave.
- Max out your stats.
- Or hunt perfect runs.

FlyHigh, developed and published by nietsnia, is a small-scale indie game that builds its identity around the exhilarating concept of taking to the skies. Rather than overwhelming players with an elaborate storyline or sprawling mechanics, it opts for a focused experience that highlights movement, exploration, and the satisfaction of improving through repeated play. The game immediately establishes a welcoming tone, inviting players into a world where the simple act of flying becomes the centerpiece of its design philosophy. At its core, FlyHigh is about maintaining momentum and learning the nuances of its traversal systems. The controls are straightforward enough for newcomers to grasp, but the game gradually reveals additional layers of depth as players become more familiar with its mechanics. There is a rewarding sense of progression that comes not from unlocking countless abilities, but from developing a better understanding of timing, positioning, and efficient movement. Each session feels like an opportunity to refine one's skills, making the gameplay loop surprisingly addictive despite its minimalist approach. The visual presentation complements the gameplay exceptionally …1 found this helpful
Controls are finnicky, objectives and controls are unclear. Great potential
It's a fun little indie game. The game features cute graphics and a great concept. The physics feel satisfying, and the items are creative. It’s perfect for a few hours of fun if you just want to complete it, but it also has a lot of potential for speedrunning. Plus, if you have friends, the multiplayer and PvP modes are fun as well.
